LOVE YOURSELF

It's important to love yourself. What people think about you becomes less important. You become a more peaceful, loving, productive person. You realize that life falls into place and you become impervious to negative comments. What other people think of you isn't as important as how you view yourself. I believe as children we naturally love ourselves. Some of us keep that healthy relationship with ourselves because that behaivior is reinforced by guardians, teachers and other adults who have hea… Continue

The Importance of compassion

I just want to let everyone know the importance of compassion. We all at some point or another needed a friend to talk to. Think about how its affected you as a person when someone did listen. Think about a time when you wanted someone to care and they didn't. Sometimes we make the mistake of giving advice or walking away from someone who needs to be listened to. Listening is a skill and it is the catalyst towards changing the world. When someone needs to speak about what ails them the best thin… Continue

Ah, a fellow Bukowski fan! I didn't know that about you. I wouldn't have had you pegged for that, but Bukowski is so accessible to all people.

If you're looking for a really nice camera, maybe I recommend one by GE? I just got it for my birthday and I am so happy with it! It's either 7 megapixels and so easy to use. I really didn't even need to use the instructions. And what's best is that it was pretty cheap for a quality digital camera: only 80 bucks. This is it: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0015LVMUA I've also seen it sold at Radio Shack.

Anyway, I am really glad you finally joined up. You're doing a great job. Everytime I see you, you're a little brighter and full of energy.

Yes, beauty is all around at all times. We lead such busy lives that we often miss the big picture. The phrase "stop and smell the roses" is far more literal to me now than it was a year ago. And yes, people are beautiful on the inside and on the outside too.

I read something in Eckhart Tolle's book, the power of now, that really resonated with me when my wife and I originally separated. Although I can't recall the exact words, it had to do with relationships (husband/wife, etc...). It was something to the effect of breaking out of the roles that we play in relationships and seeing the true beauty of the person you're with. It really spoke to me and helped me to let go of the pain of rejection. We often forgot the beauty of people in our lives because we are so bound by the roles we fall into.

As the proverb goes, "the past is history, the future's a mystery, and now is a gift...that's why it's called the present."

I wish you the very best as far as your goals are concerned. Everyone is wise is their own way; that's is the true beauty of life. No matter what happens with your diet, don't be too hard on yourself. It's about making the best choices at every juncture.

Even negativity is good sometimes; it allows you an opportunity to practice patience, love, and kindness:)

Awesome. It's about time you got on here. You wanna know what's funny? I was hanging out with Alison yesterday and we were talking about you! She asked if I had seen you since the retreat, so I told her how you were doing.

Throw some pictures on here already!

My fourth of July was a bit slow. But Lazarita and I hung out for a bit so that was cool. I showed her around my town and just tried showing her some support during these times. I may have found a new apartment so I am happy about that. I will be happier once I sign the lease and have some peace of mind. It is a lot farther from the city than I have ever lived but it seems like a nice small town. The ride up there was beautiful and my spirit is telling me that this may be a good move for me. All I need is an internet connection and then I will feel right as rain:)

Thanks Gil. I really appreciate your understanding. I am the same way when it comes to limitations that I impose on myself. I used to be obsessed about my weight and now I'm just living in the moment. I'm grateful for people like you in the raw foods community. I'm just learning to adopt a healthy mental attitude and that is one of the most important skills to have. I appreciate how down to earth you are and I just appreciate your friendship. I hope you had a happy fourth of July. I saw a fireworks show which was somewhat magical. Then I saw a movie called Hancock with Will Smith, Charlize Theron and another actor I can't remember the name. I urge you to go see it. I don't know what my schedule is like for the weekend but I imagine I will call you soon. Take it easy.

Hey,
Thanks for the messages. I am learning how to let go of the limitations and ideals that I have imposed on myself. I am growing more comfortable in my skin and in my spirit. It sounds like you have a lot of goals to concentrate on for the upcoming months. I know that you want to reach a cerain point in your physical well-being before you start officially helping other out but I just want to let you know that I think you are already a great example of this lifestyle and a truly inspiring person. I know great things will come your way. Keep up the good work.

there will never be an addiction to any food created by nature (untouched by man or needing the assistance of a man to grow) - this cacao idea came from scientists that studies substances by braking down what nature made, trying to understand it though modern ideas that have not been dated as far back as the food their studying - ask the herbalist in the forests or jungle about cacao and see what they say - they have been using it for their whole life and there ancestors have used it far longer then this modern science that brake things up into alphabets. were at a time were we cant talk bad about anything especially when it has helped so many people become better human beings. there is not rite or wrong there is only what's rite or wrong for us as individuals.
