Thanks for the kind words. You can actually find all this wonderful looking food at The Yummy Tummy, I am a raw chef there and it's out of Bikram Yoga in John's Landing. Currently it's just a to-go cooler of fantastic raw food, but in the future we will have a sit-down restaurant. For breakfast ideas I really like adding a green smoothie in the morning myself, or some living granola with nut mylk or almond yogurt and fresh fruit.
You just missed our monthly potluck, but you should add it to your calendar. visit www.bikrampdx.com for more info, and let me know if you need any raw inspiration, I've got endless recipe ideas.
ahhhhhh.... yes! wow, i was just around the corner from you!! :) I tried out Cafe Demetrio (300 Alahambra Circle), which had INCREDIBLE atmosphere. GREAT place for photography that's for sure!! by the way, i didn't realize you do photography as well--- that's AWESOME!! if you get a chance you can check out my facebook site for a collection of my photos... i absolutely LOVE photography!! i'm curious what you shoot with?
Well, for breakfast I almost always have a green smoothie or I definitly crave it all morning...
The mix changes everyday but spinach (or kale, swiss chard) with mangoes/chia seeds or with banana/choco nibs or pears and ginger, with a coconut water base they're all delicious. Mixes with cantaloup or papaya count in my favorite ones too. Too many possibilities to list them all (lettuce/strawberry is also a keeper). I prefer them with no water (more like a pudding) and top that with your favorite nuts (or chunks of fruit for texture) and scoop it out. Mmmm.
For lunch and dinner soups or salads are pretty easy to do too and always tasty. One of my favorite is a butternut soup (blend it with a coconut milk, banana or apple, cinnamon, nutmeg, curry if you like it, a bit of salt). Zucchinni made into pasta topped with a simple pesto dressing. You can find a lot of recipes simple recipes online.

One tip I can give you when transitioning is don't try to go too fast. Add raw meals here and there, get comfortable with them and soon you will probably be craving raw all the time.
Keep me posted,
Enjoy!
