Stay at home mom to Jason and Lily. I am new to raw - Oct 2007 - and am loving it so far. I love testing out new recipes. I'm also excited to test it all out w/ some hard core training this summer. Lake Stevens 70.3 or bust. Would love tips and pointers about nutrition on long runs and rides. :)
Vegan raw? Yes it has alot of raw meal as well as some vegan. What I like abou the book is that it gives me a lot of infomration such as Vitamins and Minerals ie what each one is for etc.......... I read his other one and there is some of the same info but a lot of new stuff. If your not sure about buying it check it out of the Library :-) I will let you know how my run is this weekend
Thanks for getting back to me, I am excited to really make this work for me on my long runs. Your shake sounds great I will give it a try. I have been reading Brendan Brazier book Thrive and hope to be able to follow his meal plan. I just don't feel I am getting enough to eat. I may have to cut back on the miles and work up to it again. I agree with you about the nuts. My main challenge has been eating fruit, I was stuck for so many year with the insane thought that the sugar from fruit was bad for you and put on the weight, that I have to struggle everyday with being ok eating it. Wow how society can influence you. Keep me post on your progress. I do carry a water bottle with me, but that is about it. Not sure I can load myself down. Some runs I think if I only had a sherpa ;-) ( I mean this in a funny way ) Dates are on my list for this weekends run! I will have to put them in a baggie and hope for the best.
I saw your pic's...... How is the raw thing going for you and your runs? Love to chat about what your doing before and during runs etc and how your feeling.
Wow, thank you so much for letting me know how you came to Raw. I'm smiling ear to ear and I just did a little happy dance - indeed funny because I have NO coordination...all the same, I'm thrilled to have helped you. Means so much to me :)
hi Laura
thanks for your welcome and invite. Great to see a fellow triathlete. I used to live in the USA (N.Y) and lcompeted nation wide back out there, and loved it! I do believe that once an athlete has progressed and settled into an adapted regular raw food regimen and is making sure that calorie input is adequate, that the next level is absolutely attainable! Have a great day Laura!
