About Me:
I don't think I ate 1 fruit or veggie as a child. I was overweight even as a kid. My mom put me on "diets" .... still chubby. In HS I starved to say thin, killing my metabolism. My early twenties I went through a major life event & gained 80 pounds. I lost control & my emotions took over. It was difficult getting out of bed, or taking a shower. I began working with a trainer at 25; losing 50 pounds. Still I felt sad. I couldn't seem to shake the depression. I believe in God & prayed for help to figure out how to fix this depression. A few days later, I stumbled across raw. I am 90% raw & since eating more fresh fruits, veggies, nuts, & seeds everything shifted.... from my attitude, to the sadness. I am still on the journey to reaching a better me.

I am real & true to myself. People try too hard to be perfect... fitting an ideal that doesn't exist. Life should be enjoyed.... nice things....good people....good music.... sooths our soul. The key is being you... an individual.

Raw animals & stuff

I have changed the diets of my 3 cats & bunni.... incorporating more fruits/ veggies. My bunni seems happier & more energetic. My cats actually like the fruit... especially bananas, strawberries & blueberries. Whenever I peel a banana, Simon (my cuddly cat) comes trotting across the room. lol My guy is a man's man.... he could live off of beef. When I started eating more raw he thought I was crazy. So berry happy!

I've been on this berry kick. I can't seem to get enough... I'm talking a CRAAAVE 4 berries. lol~ Makes me wonder why... I went to the farmers market... The raspberries/ blueberries hit the spot. I think I went through 4 containers in a wk.... kinda embarrassed saying that~! EEEKS ;)

Feel so alive

Wow, I'm realizing how crisp, alert, & alive I feel. My mind is sharper... Even my taste buds are different. Initially, food tasted bland, but more recently I find myself craving things like raspberries & carrots. Since childhood I've had bumps on my skin. No lotion seemed to cure it. I've been soooooo moody & emotional. Began the raw food mid May 08’… but the last two wks went 100%. The only slip up was Mon (coffee). Hmmm… detox? Absolutely. Reading that book helped me make sense of everything in terms of greens and just the general way we eat. All books by Victoria B. are amazing! Def. read them!

Hi Diana,
The bulk of the bloating turned out to be from all the carrot juice I was drinking (32 oz. a day). So I substituted green juices and experienced less bloating, but it still took some time to subside completely.
I think the bloating is mostly from the body ridding itself of stored toxins when one first begins a raw & living foods diet. Detoxifying the colon helps greatly!

80/10/10 is a type of raw food diet in which 80% of your calories come from carbs, 10% from fat and 10% from protein. It is basically a low fat raw-vegan diet and it makes you feel GREAT.

I HIGHLY RECCOMMEND buying the book 80/10/10... its the best raw food book I have read, and it makes TOTAL AND COMPLETE SENSE. Search for it online --- 80/10/10 by Dr. Douglas N. Graham.

You're welcome :) yea, sweat it out! I have high mercury levels and although I can't exercise (due to health issues) my doc tells me to sit in a sauna and sweat! because we forget how much stuff our sweat carries! good luck :)
