Hi Denise, the iron issue is a very easy one to solve. Don't get worked up over it and don't listen to family who tell you to eat animal foods. Once you start eating properly, after a couple months you will get hemoglobin tested again and you will show them you improved.
Ah, WFs=Whole Foods. Thanks. My Buddhist friend from Shanghai who used to go for tea with me next door at Peet's used to call it Whole Paycheck Foods ;-) They've certainly done well for themselves.
Ever been to Common Ground on College Ave?

Thanks Denise, I'll have to try out the Mango Caribbean.
I embarrassed at my ignorance, but what are "WFs"?
I'm still trying to figure out how much overlap there is between the Raw community and folks interested in sustainable/local and organic food. I suspect the overlap is fairly large, but it doesn't seem complete. Any thoughts?

Hey Denise,
given your interest and location, got any comments or additions to a list of Peninsula restaurants? My lists in SF, East Bay and Santa Cruz are a bit longer. I'm hoping I'm missing some good places closer to home.
Thanks!

Hey Denise! I see you live in Palo Alto. I live/work there as well and I've been looking for more raw resources in the area other than the Whole Foods. Are there any restaurants nearby? I hear the Equinox by El Camino Real has a small raw place (take-out only), but I never lose hope that we'll have something soon.

What do you do to be raw in the area?
I used to teach yoga there in Palo Alto way back in 1995 at a place called Yogaworks. Ever tried Ashtanga Yoga...? I think you would love it.
Best,
