(American) grad student/former bike messenger/organic gardener/animal lover vegangirl living on the amazingly beautiful Dingle Peninsula.
How can the community best support you in your journey? (moral support, transition advice, fitness tips, etc)
really seek community and support, particularly in my geographic area. looking to connect with others who are on the same "wavelength"; i.e. into raw vegan foods, organic gardening, sustainable living, etc and also those who are vegetarian or vegan for ethical reasons
Relationship Status:
Single
Favorite Raw Food or Recipe?
DATES (esp. from The Date People). I could eat pounds of 'em :p
Interests (outside of Raw Food):
animals (esp ponies,) and animal rights, anything OUTSIDE, growing (and eating ;) ) beautiful, healthy food, sailing (but only the little topper boats, the ones with the risk of tipping over...I find the other ones NO fun), walking with my pup (boxer) on the beach, spirituality/theology and philosophy, natural beauty, natural stuff and natural living (I LOVE natural materials i.e. wood, stone, etc.), meeting and hanging out with other raw fooders and/or vegetarians and vegans and making good food :) . Im also interested in and a bit intrigued by things like energy healing, tachyon energy, alchemy (i.e. ormus gold and that sort of thing), but also skeptical and a bit frightened. I think the world is so much deeper and richer than we realize and I would love to understand these potential forms of healing/etc better (but I do NOT believe in the philosophy of things like "The Secret."
Favorite Books or Authors:
Dominion: The Power of Man, The Suffering of Animals, and the Call to Mercy (Matthew Scully), Heart of the World (Hans Urs Von Balthasar), WENDELL BERRY, David L. Schindler, Andrew Linzey
Favorite Quote:
"Compassion can only attain its true breadth and depth if it embraces all living creatures and does not limit itself to mankind," (Albert Schweitzer(?)) and "God's love affair with the flesh does not end with the human species,": (Andrew Linzey)
GI2MR Oath: I promise to do my best to keep this community drama free. I will not name call or throw around personal attacks. I pledge to be respectful even if I do not agree with another member's opinion. When possible, I'll try to smile : )

Haha, I bet you do the same! It's more fun that way...
HI Kaybee! Thanks! I'm excited to be here. I'm launching my gourmet "California" inspired line of prepared vegetarian, vegan and raw vegan foods lines here and supplying grocery and health food stores. Keep your eyes peeled! My husband and I will be giving a seminar called "Abundant Life Strategies" which will cover everything from raw / vegan and vegetarian food demos to meditation and yoga classes. If you are interested I can mail you when we have it all settled. Cheers!
I feel like you about the animals I often wonder what I'd have been like when we were supposed to be hunter gatherers cos I'm pretty sure I would have still felt the same and there must have been people that felt like we do back then. I'm certain of it.. it just doesn't feature in the history of what we are told. I'm pretty certain that we were pure frugivores at some point earlier but they don't tell us that in our history either, they deliberately withhold info due to farming and pharmaceuticals being big business.
it is hard when most people don't see it that way and there is no point explaining as they just do not see it and feel your preaching, that is what my ex partner says to me constantly,if I even mention he could get free range meat rather than factory farmed he is so holier than though for his reasons too, it is so difficult to be ridiculed for it too. I can't logically see any reason for animal products. can't digest milk as we do not have the enzyme renin beyond 3, that is always a good one, the china study is also full of studies showing the dangers of animal proteins and research done, you might know that though. I'm ranting now......!!
Dingle sounds delightful, it is a shame when things get ruined where I live in Totnes it is very New agey holistic and more vegetarian than not in a way, but there is still a lot of butchers but at least round here it is mostly free range farming, local slaughter which at least is something. It is hard though, I try not to think about it too much as it makes me depressed when you feel for these delightful souls, I think animals are very sacred beings and were not meant to be used in the way they are callously farmed and slaughtered in slaughter houses doesn't bear thinking about and there is nothing natural about, it must be a horrific end for them. I think I've learnt more from animals than humans, and they are so healing and loving. Oh no I'm ranting again best stop, don't want to depress you either.
anyway it is nice to meet others that feel for animals too
Ijust reread you comment again, it seems the dolphin prefers to be around people rather than other dolphins. Awh I'd love to see him. I'mnot that interested in swimming with groups, I just love dolphins, they are so special. I think there are some not too far from where I live too, they are seen around the devon and cornish coast often, but I've never seen them yet,I have to find the right spot.
I've also been interested in stuff like ormus, yeah it is true that there is so much we don't really know, esp around nutrition, I tend to think now it is possible to make our own nutrients, that is why so many fruitarians thrive.
I read in hilton hotema book.. where does the butter come from when all the cow eats is grass there is no fat in grass, hence he says cosmic energy makes it.. not the food
Your dolphin sounds lovely, aww that is such a shame he is on h is own. I wonder why as they tend to be in groups don't they, Ithink it is called pods.
I'm glad you found some other rawies, I'm sure there is more about.
I saw your profile, I love animals too, can't bear the cruelty it is truly heartbreaking, I don't really look at any of it any more as i can't bear it.
