Michelle : )
thanks for your reply.
I have in fact been a distributor for a MLM company a few years back selling good health products.
It was all quite similar, the ethos, the lingo etc....
So I'm not coming from a place of complete ignorance believe me.
And I don't have an issue with prosperity either, rather the contrary.
I love the idea of MLM as an ideal I just simply don't think it's sustainable unfortunately.
And it can get really quiet culty, everyone just repeating after the last person, all using the same catchphrases etc....hhhmmm!
People GENERALLY don't want to be sold stuff when they are socialising and it's also hard for a lot of them to put trust into a product when it's marketed in this way.
That was my experience anyway.
I hope you'll have a different one and all the best with it.
Take care...:)
Ol' Blue Eyes. Wow.
You know, I used to haaaaaate xmas music until one year, a friend got together allll the xmas songs Frank sings (there's surprisingly many of them) & played them.
In that moment, I was enlightened.
Thanks for the add, and I'll let you know if I'm ever headed Kansas. A good grad school friend lives in Kansas City, so it might happen--certainly more likely with you offering to make food for me. I am "The Lazy Raw Foodist," after all, and I generally don't turn down raw food! :)
As for your request to learn something that's not on my profile/books/websites ... hmmm ...
After my head injury, I treated in Seattle and then moved to Evanston (near Chicago) to attend grad school (only lasted 3 weeks due to headaches/amnesia) and continue treatments there. I started having dreams that I needed to move back to Seattle by Aug. 1, 2001 in order to "meet my husband." Since I was disabled and had no $$$, I asked for a really obvious yet unusual sign: if I was to go to Seattle by August 1, 2001, then I would get a settlement from Workers Comp on my birthday (May 22, 2001). I started telling everyone about my birthday settlement and everyone was like, "Poor Laura, she has a brain injury and now she's completely deluded." My birthday came and went w/o news, but I couldn't shake the idea that I'd be getting a settlement. The next day, my lawyer woke me up really early with a phone call. He said, "I had the most unusual conversation with the insurance company's lawyer late yesterday afternoon. This is totally unexpected, but they want to settle for way more than we were asking."
I made plans to move to Seattle on August 1 and the Workers Comp check arrived on July 28--just in time. I met my now husband August 24, 2001 (on my parent's wedding anniversary and the day after HIS birthday). He had planned to leave Seattle August 1 but something told him to stay put until at least September! :)
So, don't think I can priv message you -until- I've friended you, so here's a tidbit that's not on my profile: I used to be allergic to cats (even though I love 'em).
ok, your turn! (ps: great pic, I've always wished I had hair like that. I SO envy all the Asian guys in my building who can do that long straight hang-in-the-eyes thing. My hair gets too damn curly when it's that long. Ahh, the pain! the pain!)
Thank You for sharing your inspirational talents. We have listened to your scratching art. Hope to see you at RS!
