copping a feel for ripeness [farm recollections]

i love picking peas because i love copping a feel. to harvest a pea, you have to pinch is for pressure and pea size. it's really quite sensual having a pea straight off the vine. sweet and delicious. juicy and cool popping in your mouth. farming is squeezing potato beetles with your bare hands, tasting fresh lettuces in the field, weeding in the rain, watching zucchinis grow in the greenhouse, suffering through 90 degree mugginess, earning muscles in places you didn't know you had muscles, and… Continue

Hi Amy, I saw that you are in Ossining. I am in Croton. We are really close. I sent you a friend request but thought I'd be able to send a comment with it. Maybe we should picnic sometime!

I will do my best to get there on time. If I'm a few minutes late, just order without me. See you then.

I'm here at work right now and I can already tell that there's no way I'll be able to get out of here before 5:30. Is 6:30 good or is that too late?

Ok. Let me know what time is good for you.

So what's a good day for you? Let me know. I'm cool any time after 5.

Yes, actually, I do have a rather brilliant idea in my head for breaking out of here. I just want to make sure I think this completely through, because once I leave, I'm burning all my bridges and never coming back.

That's really interesting about the crick in the neck. And what's up with this ice cream and bread nonsense? Are you eating both together? Talk about an ice cream sandwich. (Speaking of which, Cafe Gratitude in Cali supposedly has the best raw ice cream sandwiches ever.)

So you down for some durian frozen pudding sometime this week at Bonobos?

You know what's funny? I was actually have that thought the other day that it's been a long time since I've gotten a crick in my neck. Let's hope it stays that way and I didn't just jinx myself.

What have you been doing with yourself? Are you working... taking any classes?

Wall-E was awesome. You have to see it. Very much in keeping with our themes as raw foodists: anti-corporate, anti-junk food, pro-environment, pro-exercise. I really enjoyed the movie a lot.

Hope you had a terrific weekend.
