I've been in AZ working with Gabriel Cousens for 2 years...a good community of raw fooders, but...not enough money to stay there long term...and the spiritual aspect didn't fit me that well...so I came back to the city even though I am still studying with them and continue to learn a great deal. (I will still be studying with them for the next couple of years)
I lived in NYC since '96, worked as a stagehand in Lincoln Center most of that time, but left to persue a career in health (still working on that on many levels...)
I also graduated from the Institute for Integrative Nutrition in 2005.
It feels like a sweat lodge in my apartment and I rather like it. Feels crazy to say, since I was a full on lover of meat and alcohol 4 years ago...(I know I have become much more able to handle the heat since eating more raw)
I had been 99.7% raw for almost a year, then decided that I like having cooked food sometimes. Thai or well..whatever...I notice, however, that I often don't have it..and don't miss it. (esp. now that it is warm outside!)
I still like to go out and have a few drinks every couple of weeks, but, I have found it a challenge sometimes coming back to my old friends here in the city..and having them question my food choices. (I found myself eating A LOT of cooked food when I first came back to the city in March, but that did not work at all!)
Sooo, I am working in the city for awhile...and hope to travel on and work at hippocrates Health Institute by this time next year (or sooner).
Just went to Guatemala for a month in Jan!
The guy in my pic. is Julio (from Guatemala) we were riding the ziplines through the jungle...
Loved it! My first experience in learning Spanish. (still working on that too!)

So, I will definately check that out! By the way..my spanish still sux too...I traveled down there by bus...4 1/2 days...no spanish whatsoever...tough trip...but wouldn't change it for the world!
