Well as I had written in my last post we were supposed to go to a raw potluck tonight. It took us about 5 tries driving around this one street trying to find the building and when we finally did there was a kid on the phone who said he had no idea how to get in. Apparently he had been sent to open the door but there was something wrong with the lockbox which had the key in it. So we have REALLY bad luck with fruit. I bought a $12 giant mamey from whole foods to make a pie for the potluck tonight and it was perfectly ripe last night when I went to cut it open. Except for the mold completely surrounding the seed in the middle! i was soo mad. BUT i did end up making a blueberry/banana/clementine pie with a date/pecan/coconut crust and then i'll top it with fresh strawberries, blueberries, and kiwi before we head out tonight. very exciting. i've never made a raw pie befor… Continue

Yesterday was a great day. We had lots of errands to run and lots of stuff to do but we really just enjoyed each other's company and had fun. We needed some things from wonderful Wal-Mart (don't you hate just walking into that place??), Office Depot, and the produce market. I bought a huge pack of cds so I could pull all my documents/videos/music/pics from my computer and erase everything else and start over. so life has seriously sucked the past couple days, but i have to say if this was 6 months ago i'd be a total wreck. i've stayed really positive through all the bull shit and have just taken everything in stride. i was making vegan brownies for the owner of grass roots when my computer decided it was going to stop working. so in the middle of perfecting the banana walnut brownies i tore up dozens of boxes (we're still unpacking) looking for my install cds. i wasn't sure if the brownies were done… Continue

so its been a couple days since we received our blender but we're still totally loving it. i've made salsa, more soups, salad dressings, and of course our morning smoothies. i think we'll start drinking more green smoothies since this thing totally blends everything up. on thursday we were just planning on going over to oceanic (an asian market that we heard carries durian) in tampa but we ended up meeting with a friend and driving all over the place. there was a restaurant supply store attache… Continue
