About Me:
I love hanging out with my friends, being out in the sun, listening to music, playing soccer, the drums, and travelling. I’ve been to Latin America, Southeast Asia, and all over India. I’m planning to volunteer in India for a year at some point.

I just graduated from UC Berkeley with a degree in Political Science and a perfect GPA. I’m at a point now where it seems that many doors are open, and I have to take my pick. I’m trying to pick the right path.

I was first introduced to raw food by my brother Rishi. I saw how it made him healthier and happier. After about half a year of convincing, I finally came around. I am still not a strict raw foodist like Rishi. My diet is mostly vegan and very high in raw foods. I make exceptions for my mom’s or my grandmother’s Indian cooking.

Raw food is an important concept in my life right now because to me it represents a truth that is separate from what I’ve been taught and told. I’ve solved several health problems by just eating raw food. These were problems that doctors said were incurable and would require me to take prescription medicine for the rest of my life. There is a flaw in conventional medicine—it treats problems. The focus of healthcare should instead be on preventing problems by enhancing wellness.

My brother Rishi and I just started a raw food blog where we share recipes and ideas about health, food, and the world. Please visit us.

hello Rohit!
Great to know you would be coming here. Which city are you going to stay in?
Okies, as for staying raw here..... Well i dont find it difficult at all. But then I havent been anywhere else outside my city or west bengal really since turning raw. I bet it would be difficult anywhere where there would not be abundant supply of fresh produce.
So far I have loved being raw and loved every bit of it. But of course there are no raw restaurants here. at least i dont know any! Mumbai might have a couple. And I havent found raw chocolate or cacao in ageees. I once used to find raw cacao nibs at a wholefood center. but that time i wasnt even raw and now that i am, they are nowhere to found!
Do let me know where and when you are coming!

Oh man, your gonna love it once you get a change to read it. I guarantee it!

It's about eating foods to which we are biologically designed to eat.

One concept in the book is the concept of whole foods. Whole foods are ALWAYS more nutritions than their refined counterparts.

-Oils are not whole foods
-Juices are not whole foods
-Dehydrated foods are not whole foods
-Whole food supplements are not whole foods (the name is kind of funny when you think about it LOL)

So, if a person is consuming any of the above products, then it is important for them to be aware that they are making a compromise and would be better off eating the whole foods that the refined food came from.

Make sense?
