Not a damn thing is new. Today i made time to go to the farmers market and to go to Pure Food and Wine for some ice cream....and now i feel all is good in the world.
I am SO happy for you!! I just watched this documentary called "Go Further!" with Woody Harrelson in it. Did you know he's a raw foodist? In the movie, this girl quit dairy and had the same results! If if eliminated blemishes on the outside, just imagine what's going on inside! :-)
I look forward to reading your writing!
Guess what?! I called my blood father today. We had a conversation about religion and health. It's funny that everytime I talk to him, this is what it's about. I learned that my guesses are right. My blood is from Akwa Ibom, Uyo to be exact. I also found that there is NO history of illness and disease and his parents lived to be 90! I always said I'd live to be 100. :-)
Today is such a good day for me. Everything is right. Only thing I can do is give thanks!
Here's my song of the day:
I've reached out to his siblings, but they don't know me and don't know if it's the truth. My last time is really common in Nigeria so I can't just search for similar named people. *lol*
I feel my natural roots in my heart. I would love to dance to real traditional Nigerian music on those beautiful red mountains they have though. :-)
Well, in my situation. I found out 1-2 years ago that my biological father is living less than 1 hour away from me. He has a family and they don't know about me nor do his siblings who are now head of that family since his parents died. I met him just a couple years ago after I researched to find out where he was. I have since e-mailed him and received no reply.
I've met real men and realize he is not one so I'm not concerned with it anymore.
Machines are too high-tech. I use them minimally. Most use a blender and that's it.
For seed milks or nut milks, I just soak them. Hemp milk is the easiest to make because you don't need to soak them forever.
I make mine like this video.
I use whatever seeds or nuts and I put a couple dates in there as well. I just pour it in a bag like this one. They sell them at my local natural food store.
I turn the bag inside out to collect the pulp. Nori is the seaweed that's used to make sushi with. I season the nut paste with curry powder, pepper, celtic sea salt and spread it on the seaweed and add veggies and roll it up. If you can't get raw nori sheets, you can use collard greens or mustard greens. Nori isn't as bitter as those others.
I love nature! I like climbing trees. Especially apple trees. :-)
I've never been to Nigeria. I would like to see it one day. I am not in touch with my Nigerian family so I would just be another tourist if I went... :-(
I will one day move to Angola though. My husband is from there.
I currently have bell peppers, tomatoes and mint growing on my super small patio. I want to grow more but I don't have the space. I think I could probably do some small herb plants though.
It's important to learn to care for plants because who knows what the future may hold.
Have you tried making anything like nut or seed milk?
I think it's a great starter to making things on your own. The leftover nut/seed pulp can be used for many things. I like to make nori rolls with it. :-)
Kansas is beautiful. People may think it's nothing but farms and land....well, it's partially true. I live in a college town that's about 30 minutes away from the city and the capital city. So my town is really cool. It's a certified "Tree City" and also a Bike Friendly community so we have alot of "hippy liberals" and organic farmers. I like it very much here. It's home. I would probably freak out in a bigger city unless there was a strong local/community emphasis. I'm hoping my next move will be big though. Like to Africa. *lol* After I learn all I need to know about farming and providing for myself.

What state is your Nigerian family from?

The restaurants are nice but its expensive. The best restaurant you can go to is the one you've created in your own kitchen and dining rooms
