So, you already run a bit, that is great. Good start 1K. Now just gradually increase it. They say 10% a week, but that never worked for me. I always wanted to get out there and increase it more than that, which I did. Just listen to your body.
How has raw helped my running? Well, I didn't run before I turned raw, so it actually helped me to get out there and run. Also, I no longer have arthritis in my left knee because I run or because I am raw, I don't know...I have more energy to run while being raw and I seem to recover a lot better than when I was eating cooked.
Have you tried the Raw Athletes group? RawKev and them are great inspirations for athletes.
take care and be well.

I used to walk quite a bit for weight control on my treadmill. When I went raw I found that walking just didn't do it for me all the time. So, I started to incorporate small running time frames into my walking routine. I would run one minute, then walk four minutes. Over time it ended up being such that I ran more than I walked, then I just ran. It tooks months for me to do that. I was overweight and I am much older than you appear to be :), so it took a bit longer for my body to adjust. I now run 5K and 10K races, not to win but to simply cross the finish line. It gives me great satisfaction and it helps me as a way to keep in shape.
My best advice would be to start off slow and listen to your body. If you have never run before, or are not currently an active individual, just don't try to do it all at once. People go out thinking they can do more than they can and they hurt themselves. Then they can't get out there and run anymore and give up. There's a great book by a guy named John Bingham titled "No need for Speed". It's a great beginner's running book and shows that if he can do it, anyone can.
I wish you the best of luck and happy feet!!
