- About Me:
- I have been involved in health food retailing for over 20 years. My first approach to a natural diet was with that of a traditional Asian based vegan diet. Later on I added extensive sprouting and juicing to my diet. My health has been transformed by a diet of wholesome, raw and minimally processed foods. I am involved in the health food industry not only as an employment but as a way of life. I started back when health foods stores were still small family run shops. Soon after I was involved in the expansion of a well known health food store to a new location and afterwards the opening of a new full service store. Aside from my experience in health food stores I’ve been involved in wholesale distribution, organic farming, the management of a vegan restaurant and the administration of an alternative health center. Most recently my family and I have started an online Raw Food shop because of our growing interest in Organic Raw Foods..

Waiting on Spring.
Wow, yesterday was the first day of spring! At least on the calendar. With all the snow piled up here in Eastern Canada and the continued cold weather its going to take a few weeks before we have some warmer days. We had to make a trip out of town for 5 days and stopped our usual wheatgrass trays and sprouting jars while away. Could it be?
Spring is near! I can smell it in the air despite the recent 15cm snowfall here in the Ottawa Valley. I don't know about you but I am anxious for warmer and longer days. I have enjoyed the outdoor activities the past winter has afforded us but I look forward to getting my hands into the cool spring soil again. I live in Bells Corners (Ottawa). Maybe you could tell me about any raw events, where to get the best produce, etc.
Canada is tough for fresh produce in the winter. The stores have everything imaginable but its not very fresh and its often tasteless and high priced. But we still manage to get by. There is no perfect place on earth in my opinion. Cost of living in Canada is pretty reasonable.

I agree with you on your thoughts and desires for spring...but I think we have one more blast of snow coming at the end of March...well so long term forcast predicts. I'm interested in finding out some information about wholesale distribution of organic produce, and would like to find out where the best place with the best price to purhcase organic produce etc.(I'm in Toronto) I'm going to check out your web site too.
