About Me:
I do my best day by day to be an expression of divine love to everyone I come in contact with, including myself. I have been dappling in raw foods for a long time. I gave up meat months ago, then transitioned to giving up meats and cheeses, and have been eating 100% raw foods for about a month now. I fully intend to continue this lifestyle, as I know deep within that it is the best and most natural way for me to eat, as well as supportive of the connection that I want to maintain with my inner self. I am a life coach specializing in helping people design lives that make them happy by removing the blocks that mask their natural state of joy, which could include fear, self-limiting beliefs, and any situations that they may need to let go of. I have a Bachelors degree in Psychology and a Masters degree in Counseling. I hope to soon begin working on my PhD in Holistic Life Coaching.

Raw Food Seminar

I went to a raw food seminar tonight by a naturopathic doctor. While I already knew most of the nutritional information through my own research (enzymes, benefits of raw food, etc.), I DID learn how to sprout (something I've been meaning to do for a while). And the food was DELICIOUS! I also met a lot of very interesting people, all at various points on their raw-food journey. It was a real treat, as there is not a very large community of people interested in living foods in West Michigan.

Food Prep-Suggestions anyone?

I am loving this raw journey, but am finding that simple is better for me. I try to prepare more complicated recipes using my dehydrator, but find that it is really disappointing when I spend a lot of money on the raw organic ingredients, spend so much time soaking, prepping, and dehydrating, and it turns out bad. I realize that there is a learning curve here, but I spent about $20 and a lot of hours on some raw banana bread, and it's horrible! I think I need to take a food prep class if I want… Continue

Hi Aubrey! Sorry it took so long to get back to you. Congrats on being 100% raw! That's quite an accomplishment because it sure is a struggle. When I first went raw about 5 years ago - I just did everything over night. I stayed 100% for about 2 years and then things changed in my life and it just wasn't as easy for me anymore. Now I do as much raw as possible and try not to get too down on myself when I don't. I am usually raw most of the day and then by dinner time I will have a healty, clean vegan meal - but sometimes I eat pizza - ha...and not the raw kind!

Keep up the good work and don't let anyone or anything stand in the way of your dreams and the way that you want to live your life.

So, how do you feel now that you are all raw?

Thanks Aubrey for including me into your community. I am praying that I can glean information to stay on the path. I am kinda new at this and sometimes I fail, but I intend to press on. By the way, I read your profile about your interest in life coaching, reading and people. Well, I teach my students every week that the world needs coaching including me, Great to be aboard.

Hi Aubrey! Nice to meet you! I just love this website, it is truly amazing to be a part of it!

Well, yes it takes time. But, Its great that you were able to stay 80%! That's pretty good! It is very difficult, I found it truly a challenge. I didnt have much support, and I was also recovering from many physical and emotional traumas. My family thought and still thinks im nuts! haha. See, I would eat raw for awhile, feel great, and then go back to cooked food when I was stressed. Finally, I guess it was my time to be fully raw for GOOD! i said nomore cooked for me, i dont want to be sick. so i stopped. its been 2 months being raw. like you, i feel great. so uplifted. so light, so free, im sure you know what i mean =) I guess, I can say that my pain led me to the truth, led me to happiness, as it does for so many people!
Aubrey, I am so happy we are friends. I'm so happy you found your way. Stick with it! And ill do the same! I'd love to support each other =)

So tell me more about you...How did you find out about raw? What made you change? =)

Hey Aubrie thanks for the message. Yes Doug Graham is a wealth of knowledge, having been a raw fooder for longer than he's been cooked. To me, his no-nonsense logical approach to this, incorporating the teachings of Natural Hygiene, is second-to-none among all the major self-proclaimed "gurus" of the raw food world.
