Thank you so much for the comment! Yeah its so hard to put one passion aside to pursue the other but I finally felt like the timing was right. I still love to dance though as I'm sure you do too! Good to chat with fellow dancers so keep in touch. Making the lifestyle change to a vegan or raw foods diet can be difficult and I myself have only been 100% raw for about 2 or 3 months now. I promise you its worth it and after a few months or even a few weeks it gets a lot easier. If you ever have any questions, need some good recipes to try, or if you just want to chat about dance, don't hesitate to ask! have a wonderful day!
Hey, if you're free le me know if you want to meet up for dinner at the Cafe Gratitude in Berkeley on Saturday night.. or maybe I'll see you at the Alive! booth at the Ferry Building on Saturday ;-)
hi robby.
i have a date with my computer and those links after i get home from class tonight around 10. done and done. the only thing i can vouch for is a sincere interest in all of this. i have an incredibly stubborn countenance and it will be quite the showdown between body and mind to actually carry out this grand experiment of raw living but i'm here, aren't i?
thank you for all of your support and information. would never take it for granted and definitely feel ready to at least soak up the insights if not actually carry them out in my lifestyle. i've been tired, cranky and full of injuries and there's no time like now, when i am at the peak of my 20-something physique to make efforts to preserve and nourish what my body is blessing me with, right?
If your willing to stay in touch, we can take this one concept at a time.
Let's tackle the protein issue first. There is lots of info available to answer this question. Have you read The China Study? You will certainly enjoy watching many of the videos on the following link. Especially the talks titled "Rick Dina, D.C.: Who says vegans don't get enough protein " and "Charlie Abel: How to build muscle on a raw food diet."
I have a need for honesty and respect, would you be willing to let me know if your going to actually read The China Study or watch any of the videos above?
oh yay .. another escaped Melbournite for me to catch up with here in SF huh! Cool to hear you'd be into catching up at Gratitude.. the raw food talk there (at the 9th st store) is from 4-6pm today and then i'll probably stay on for a bit of scrumptious smoothie action afterwards. Email or call me anytime or just rock up tonight yo! lucystegley@gmail.com / 415-312-0742
Trust me, you have found the right person. The question really should be, "Is it possible for me to reach peak performance and not follow the 80/10/10 raw vegan lifestyle?"
Have you seen pictures of Dr. Graham? Do you know who Harley is? Harley just won a 24 hour bike ride competition. http://vegsource.com/talk/raw/messages/99947233.html
Harley was a professional cyclist but didn't want to do the drugs so he quit. The amount of information I could give you about sports performance is endless and nutrition/life style is endless.
Hey, no probs.. saw you were from SF and thought i'd drop you a line ;-) Are you going to the raw food talk this Tuesday (ie tomorrow) at Cafe Gratitude on 9th? Would be cool to hang out sometime anyway.. I work at Alive! restaurant/farmer's markets.. c u round. peas
