Thanks! Yes, my wife and I took over as new owners about 3 weeks ago. It's a cool place but we plan on making it even cooler by having more events. For instance, Paul Nison is doing a Raw Food demo on October 25th at 6:30pm. We have a large space next to the cafe which we plan on using for lots of events, so let me know if you know any good raw food speakers, or if you have any other cool ideas, even if they are not to do with raw food. Also, if you want to have large groups/parties there, just send me an email (rich@thesomacenter.com) and I will reserve the patio/a nice large table for you.
Yes, the Mt. Shasta area is wonderful. I have a place in Sunriver which is a couple hours north of Crater Lake. We were also there last summer, just missed ya!
It is such a beautiful part of the country. The first thing I do when I get there is to suck in a lung full of the fresh mountain air. I am so grounded when I am up there. I spent the month of July there and just didn't want to come back.
But, as my hubby says, I can't be on vacation the rest of my life, and I respond, WHY NOT!!!
Do you know that your page takes forever to load up. I don't know what it is but it takes a while.
The Mt. Bachelor photo was taken from the Cascade Lakes highway on the south side of Mt. Bachelor. I have a vacation home up there, so that is how I know about layering in the high desert :)
I pass by Mt. Shasta on my drive up to Oregon every couple of months. I love all the mountains and lakes along the way. Sounds like you are familiar with the area. It is so beautiful, green and clean, I love it!!!

I was reading what foods you eat... seems like you eat a lot of that green powder from doc broc!? Does it taste good? is it raw?
I really like the quote you have on here "Wherever you go, there you are" --- who's quote is it?
It reminds me of the book "Remember: Be Here Now" -- have you read it?
