What's the worst smoothie combination you've ever made or had?

Have you ever experimented with a smoothie and it has just gone wrong? Do tell. Mine was a combo of apple, pineapple and dandelion greens. I think it was the dandelions that ruined it.

Favorite Green Smoothie

I'd love some green smoothie recipe ideas. What's your favorite?

Folks freaked out by green goodness.

Folks around here are freaked out when we tote our green goodness around in the mason jars. Plenty of interesting reactions and a multiplicity of questions.

Anybody else had this experience?

The leftover slush

Does anyone ever fill up the jar with water and drink the rest of the slush mixed with the water? Kinda looks like swamp water but it's really good if the water is cold with some lemon squeezed in. I used to get sad rinsing out my jar and seeing all that itty bity greeny goodness go down the drain. Thoughts?

How long does it last?

How long do green smoothies last when un-refridgerated? I was wondering if I could blend a smoothie, put it in a mason jar, and bring it to school or work for lunch???

What's in YOUR jar? :)

So...
What was your green smoothie of choice for the day?

Dry, itchy skin

The past few weeks, I have had increasingly dry, itchy skin, particularly on my shoulders and back. Someone told me recently that eating/drinking too much kale and spinach interfers with your body's natural oil -which could potentially explain the itching.

As enyone experienced anything like this?

I've slowed down on the kale/spinach green and moved to more lettuce/green and red for the moment, to see if it improves.
Would love some feedback. Thanks.

Grapefruit smoothie?

HI!
Does anyone have any suggestions as to what would go really well with grapefruit in a smoothiie? I was thinking mint and.....??
thanks!

Question about Smoothies with goji berries

I've tried several times to include goji berries in my green smoothies, but I just can't enjoy it. Texture, color, etc. just turn me off. I've tried soaking them & adjusting the amounts. Any other suggestions.

People try to become aware. They need some nudging. I got my nudge a couple years ago and took notice. That papaya looks tasty in the painting.

Howdy, Grandma! As you've discovered, it's about experimenting and finding out what delights your taste buds! However, that also needs to be balanced with variety. It's really, really, really important to change your greens frequently.

Sounds like different recipes for different times of day might be useful. I would also recommend adding rejuvalac or kombucha to help slow the oxidation for those lunch smoothies. Try using lighter greens such as a mix of lettuces and spinach. A few leaves of cilantro of basil might be fun, too.

Another thought would be to get a personal size blender to make or freshen your drink. I tend to like the Magic Bullet but one of those you dip into the glass might be good for freshening.

You are much to kind. As to metaphysics. in particular studying the unseen realities that exist and influence the world we experience as physical reality...reality shifting, seeing others beyond what one's physical sight is aware of and becoming aware of energies and other factors. As to enlightening you, I can only say that you are already in a presence of such. I think any one conscious of evolving and desiring a hiring nature above that which presently exists among most inhabitants (the natural tendency to react or allow negative based influencers to determine one's reality) is enlightened. The raw community here acknowledges they were meant for a simplistic natural means of feeding the physical mechanism we term the body and (in turn) allows the ethereal body to shine through which is why we can have such deep relationships with people in this "raw online neighborhood" whom we've never met before.
There is a fragment of each of us existing externally in the personalities they we see separate from ourself. Though they can exist as separate entities they can serve to be a reflection of either an aspect of oneself or something they need to change or evolve beyond.

I am interested in your thoughts about things...feel free to post a few.

greetings divine mother ~

my mother is also a green smoothie toting grandma! so welcome to my family of green smoothie toting mothers!

you mention asking what can help keep a smoothie fresh? i always say that you if you can tote the ingredients to work and then blend fresh you will be most happy but sometimes green smoothies can last a bit i've noticed using a dropper ful of marine phytoplankton which binds and well...keeps it fresher as if preserving it.

i also notice that ANY smoothie with MACA in it always tends to change taste after some time in keeping so i never use maca when i am planning on storing it for later.

i look forward to hearing back from you as to what you finds works best for you :)

I love your name and your profile! I'm a green smoothie/green juice fanatic too. Don't know how I ever made it without them. I'm nuts for autobiographies like you. Read in good ones lately?
