I am a Multimedia artist (writing, music, photography, interactive conceptual art, video/film). I live in Trinidad.
I started eating 100% raw around 17th May 2008. Having been a vegetarian for 17 years, I didn't find the transition difficult, but there's a lot to learn in terms of nutrition.
There is not a large raw food community here in Trinidad. I know one person who is 100% raw. And I have one or two friends who are making early steps. The support of a wider community is important - having people to answer raw questions, give guidance and encouragement. This is why I have joined this site.
Thus far I find raw eating exciting, delicious, full of variety, enlivening and inspiring. It's a whole new world and a new way of being and feeling. As an artist, it fits me - I feel creative and adventurous when putting together something to eat. Makes eating more fun. Looking forward to exploring, knowing more and experiencing the benefits of this lifestyle.

Hi Elspeth,
I hope this note finds you well! I'm so sorry for the delay in my response... things have been very busy lately; so, to answer your question, "Spiritual Psychology" recognizes the Metaphysical aspect of our existence, instead of just the physical and/or mind created realms. It is designed to help one come into full awareness of their "authentic self." It is a highly experiential course that has each student delve into their own psyche and inner knowing. The belief is that, if one is going to assist others in finding themselves or healing their deepest wounds, then one must also have the experience of doing the same themselves! It is an amazing program, to say the very least... It has been BY FAR, the BEST and most rewarding gift I've EVER given to myself. I'm happy to share more with you, but for a direct look, go to this website: www.gousm.edu.
Once the Quinoa is done... I like to add raw veggies to it... It's delicious... There is no other grain that I eat as a staple. I am currently juice fasting... The last time I did this My metabolism reset... I began to desire vegetables that I had not previously liked... like cucumber and tomato... I am excited to find where this ones takes me intuitively : )

Wishing you Peace, Blessings & Light.
Namaste,

The carrot cake was good. However, I prefer to make pies and tortes. Cakes tend to have too much nuts for my digestive system.
