About Me:: I'm a 49 year old who is a grandmother, mom, and wife and I live on the West Coast.

I have been eating raw foods for 3-1/2 years now. I no longer take any medication, I lost 44-lbs., and have become much more active as a result.

I'm a certified raw food chef and instructor and enjoy food preparation.

Life is complicated, if you want to know anything else, ask....

What type of friends are you looking to make here?: People of like mind, since I change my mind often, that could be anything :)

Favorite Raw Food or Dish:: Bananas, Green Smoothies. Energy Soup

Interests (outside of Raw Food):: Too many to list but here are some: My two dogs Buster and Kosmo, my grand-daughter, antiques, books, food preparation, amateur photographer, running, biking, watching all sorts of sports, hiking, mother nature at her finest, trees, sunshine, gardening, growing sprouts, walking as often as I can, travelling, watching people, etc..

If the foam looks like wet, foamy spit balls, you've got spittle bugs. They're little leafhopper type insects that build this protective layer of, well, spit, for protection. They rarely so significant harm to perennials of shrubs, so you can either ignore them, or if it bothers you, rinse them off with a vigorous spray of water. Their season is short.

Since you are in a very different climate, it might be worth checking with a local expert, but AFAIK, spittlebugs are common everywhere, and rarely do any damage other that to some kinds of lawns.
