I recently blogged it is crucial to stop dieting to get out of compulsive overeating. I know how sensitive this issue is for many of you; therefore I will regularly come back to it. When I look at magazines, the number of diets that promise success in controlling weight appalls me. As a compulsive overeater, you can find yourself trying anything out of despair because you don’t know where to turn to, because dieting gives you a feeling of "control", because you absolutely MUST do something to…

yeah, hanging on to certain foods, or the NEED to fill full when actually i am not hungry anymore... and could have stopped before i actually put my fork down which is my 'thing' these days.... be in contact with my body and trusting him. My body is on my side, he's always been here for me... hummmm interesting, have to run too, talk later. Thanks a lot Andrea, have fun in Canada.
I think awareness of our food patterns is a great step (in fact, from what I remember from your own personal story, I believe you came a long way with that! :)
Lately, as I said on the forum, I've been reading E. Tolle and even though he doesn't speak much of food patterns, it made me realize I was equating food with my personality (with my "I") and perhaps that is one of the reasons in my case I can't let go of certain foods. Does that make sense in your case?
Anyway, I want to write more about this to you but I have a class now so more later!!
Good luck!
Cheers,
Andrea
I added you as a friend I think. Im not sure how to do it accept to go to your profile and click add as friend. Then I got a note that it sent you a message. Overeating is something I had an issue with also along with
cough cough Gambling, alcohol, drugs as a teenager, coffee, cigarettes earlier in life, junk and fast food. Its crazy what we do to go to another place.
I like your leaving yourself open to what new friends/experiences that may come your way. Only way to live, IMHO.
My aunt, cousin and nieces live in Sydney. I've been there several times. Love it. Prefer Perth though. Freemantle, to be precise. I was there prior to the America's cup, when it was still a sleepy town dotted with sidewalk cafes.
Just wanted to say Hello. Sorry, got a little longwinded. Ciao.
anyway....
i find that oats work well whole oats, that is.almost powdery 'instant porridge oats' just turn to goo, and oat grains r 2 hard. use the ones where each grain has been flattened.should b easy 2 get in organic form at healthfood store. mix with a little tepid water and apply quickly 2 face, scrub gently, leave on 4 few mins if u want, leaves face feeling v smooth:) or if u can try sesame seeds, quickly whiz them in a spice/coffee grinder, so 50% of them are broken open 2 release the oils, apply to an already wet face and scrub 2 yr hearts content! leaves a lovely yummy smell. have fun!
Take care,
Susana
