I went to the beach today, and it was beautiful even though I only stayed a few hours. Aaron is away at warped tour, so I was able to get some much needed reflective time.
There were two boys who showed up next to where I was camped out. They set down two large, dirty packs and stripped down to their undies. One boys says to the other, rather poetically "How do you think our lives will change? You know, after this trip is over? What is it going to be like when we go home?" Then they both ran in…

Well my roommate and I went to the beach yesterday. Funfunfun. I didn't reapply sunscreen after going in the lake, so my whole backside is burned. Fire engine red.
I came home and immediately soaked in a bath and exfoliated. I think that is a huge help for sunburns, renewing the skin faster. And if you get to it quickly enough, it doesn't hurt too bad.
So now I'm just drinking tons of water and cringing every time I sit down.
My roommate had gone blueberry picking the day before. I love her…

I have been
really tired lately. I think it's from the trip I took to Wyoming, and all the time-zone jumping and driving. It's amazing to see how one exhausting day leads to a week of recuperation (who expected recuperation to be spelled like that? recouperate, recooperate....I had to google it. *ashamed*).
I bought some really shitty peaches last week. They felt ripe enough, but the first one I tried was hard and mealy and white on the inside. I let the others sit on the counter a few d…

I went to Cousins in Chicago last night, as my first raw food restaurant experience! We got there around 8:30pm and there were only a few other people there. It was incredibly warm and humid inside, so much that I suspect it was intentional. I actually enjoy being hot and sticky, but Aaron didn't really like it.
We got our special, ionized water and took forever deciding what we wanted. I wanted to order everything, ended up choosing a nut tuna wrap. Aaron asked for a pasta dish, but they were…

i am NOT working out everyday for the 100days! just wanted to make that clear haha. i'm not sure i could handle that!
i am doing strength training 3 days a week and yoga 2 days a week. one yoga class is on the same day as the strength training so if the schedule stays the same, i will have 4 days of working out and 3 days of rest.
i'm very excited to see how this all works out. trying to keep in touch with the community as much as i can...it really helps to keep me motivated.
are you doing the 100 day challenge?
You know what I like to do? I'll make a topping of some kind. Like last time, I threw some almonds, cinnamon, a dash of sea salt... and... damn, I think there was something else? Anyway, I just mixed that up really quick in the food processor, then I was cutting the peaches in half and doing a quick dunk. It was like giving them a crust and eating peach pie. Tell me what a genius I am, please. Thanks.
