Give it to me Raw - Raw Food Community

Hello all,

I'm kind of reaching out to anyone here that can give me some tips on how to control or moreover, get rid of a "fungal infection" (basically a rash that discolours the skin and creates a lot of irritation). It's quite itchy lately, and it's grown a bit over the last year or so. I've had it for about 5 years now, and currently it covers the size of a ping pong ball underneath my right arm. It has regressed and enflamed regularly over the time that it's been on the skin, and it's really enflamed a lot since I've gone very healthy, which is strange, although it doesn't have to be because of the change of food.

The orthodox medicine route is to treat the symptom "until it's gone", but steroid creams and anti-inflammatory creams just made it enflame even more. Hydrocortisone ointments and creams made it regress but only to a plateau, whereby the infection was just visible. Once treatment was stopped it only took a week or so for the area to become enflamed again.

I am thinking of visiting a naturopath/dermatologist/specialist soon, but I want to try to get rid of it naturally this time - no matter what anyone says. If that doesn't work, I'll just cut the skin off with a pair of corrugated scissors. Just kidding :P

Anyone got any ideas?

Clément

p.s. I normally rub on some coconut oil, or E45 cream to really hydrate it, as this helps keep the irritation away and keep it from spreading. I find that sunlight helps to make it get smaller, so vitamin D might have something to do with a fix. It's just a pity that I live in the North-East of England and not California :P

Well it was inevitable on the diet I was on really Rawzi, I was eating very unhealthily, but I was 13 and didnt know any better at the time. I always thrived in sunlight and still do. Never tried clay, had never even heard of it, except for pottery. I was brought up in a pro-pharmaceutical household.

I think we had one bottle of baby aspirin, one bottle of teething formula, ane bottle of cough syrup, one bottle of nose drops and that's it in our medicine cabinate, and never used nor refilled them. They did give me a lot of anti-biotics and special immunity injections. I didn't know what pepto bismol or sinus tablets were till I was well into my thirties. I learned the clay from some volunteers at Ann Wigmore's, also from a good friend of mine, and also from another naturopathic place I 'premiered' at. Ann didn't like clay when I was there, because it's not a plant, she wanted us to use only plants. My bones were way too thin (breaking that year) when I was thirteen. I had other stress on my feet due to a number of things including toe work (ballet) and gymnastics, but I don't think I've ever had a fungus grow on my skin. I would think dairy causes that, but I'm seeing non-dairy people on this forum getting skin fungus, so dairy it's not. I didn't use much dairy growing up, and even that was too much. I don't like any Big Dairy. I come from a live breastmilk is good for just about everything household.

Do you live in the UK like I? Then you would realise why perhaps up until this summer, I have been unable to subject myself to sunlight... lol.

Has it been raining everyday? Lots of people say they can't get sun in the UK.

Hey Rawzi! It hasnt been raining every day in the UK but when it hasnt been raining it's tended to be very humid.
We do get some sunny days though the dry heat type which are glorious!

Hey Clement,

Yup I live in the UK and unfortunately know how difficult getting enough sunlight can be. Get yourself on holiday or something I guess. But know also that even sunlight is only treating the symptoms (as far as clearing skin conditions goes at least....obv. we need sunlight for other things such as serotonin/melatonin production, circadian rhythm and Vit D)

Hey there Clement!

As you know the UK is very humid at the moment and I believe with the lack of sun that contributes too.

i have been having these rashes on my right leg suddenly. i have been 7 months into raw. the rahses came last month and were going terrible!
i followed some of the advice discussed on a thread i started last week. like, taking neem internally and externally and coconuts. my rashes were painful and my legs were going very dry. i had high fruits and almost no fat for one month and somehow i did not respond well to that. i believe my rashes are an outspurt of old fungal growth. but i am, cutting back sweet fruits and going high green and including some fat. i am doing better. the rashes were going purple and sprouting new red ones but no more now.
i think my body would heal if i cut down the sweet fruits completely for sometime. i am going to go high green and i think my body needs some fat too!
i would try the oil of oregano, thank you!!!
i wish i could have a colonic but its not possibel now.i am going to have enemas soon.
yes sunbathing helped for me too. but i have to wear lose pants while out and about in public cause my rahses look totally bad!!! :(((So i get less suntime than i should want...
i hope my marks heal soon too! my skin gets scarred very easily...

Happy healing, Clement!
