Give it to me Raw - Raw Food Community

So this is my first week being 90% raw (vegan)

The Good:

I've had deathly cold hands all my life, for as long as I can remember. Toes too... They never bothered me b/c I was so used to them, but its AWESOME when people jump at your lightest touch and expect to see Death standing behind them...Anyways, after 4 days raw, I suddenly realized my hands and feet were no longer cold! They're now a completely normal temperature, my husband was amazed!

Wondering if anybody has any thoughts on this... Any theories or similar experiences? I'm not sure what to attribute it to.

Ok, the Bad:

Terrible acne! I started breaking out the past couple days. Please tell me this is just detoxing.

Many people have said they get acne while detoxing.

i have got severe rashes now 7 months later on my start of raw journey. hmm...

i have always had cold hands since i was vegan. and they only got colder when on raw. i get the shivers in monsoon in India sometimes but then i rarely feel hot. body temperature obviously cools down on raw. I wonder what I would do in a colder country... Probably freeze, I dunno! i do drink tea a lot! suntea, herbal ones.sometimes just with slightly heated water. that helps me after i get shivers from getting drenched in a sudden shower or sth.

Don't know about the cold hand thing as since I have lost weight on raw I am now colder. I think it is because I lost most of my insulation (90 lbs).

Acne yeah it is detox for sure. I went through this and for several months (sorry to tell you). I had a pretty toxic diet beforehand though so maybe you will be different. The good news is that now I never break out now so look at it as a temporary thing.

I second the cold hands.

I used to have colds hands and cold feet as well, And i could not take extreme heat or cold, where as others could bear it. There were times when i used go to movies i have to take a sweater to keep me warm. Not only that i used to sweat even when i used to feel cold. This was all before going raw.

Now i don't have these symptoms, I do get them when ever i fall off the raw foods. I remember one interesting episode when i was between 75 - 90% raw days it was like after 3 months or so into high raw, in winter (it wasn't too cold, but still cold enough to wear sweaters), I went to a restaurant with a couple of my friends, and we went to a dance club later on. I did not wear the sweater. while my friends wore it. I haven't realized that i walked out of the restaurant to the club without a sweater for a good 15 minutes, until my friends asked me about it. Thats when it occurred to me, for the first time in my life, i did not wear a sweater when my other friends wore it!!

how cool is that :)

Same for me with the intolerance to extreme temperatures thing as well...We've been having a pretty mild summer where I'm at, so I guess I won't know if I've gotten over this as well for a while, but its good to hear :) I'm sure they're somewhat related.

I wonder if it isn't a thyroid thing...

"What our body doesn't digest, we wear on our face"

It is important to place wholesome foods in oru bodies, but it is equally important to eliminate the junk that is inside of it as well. Enemas and/or colonics will assist with this process (colonics can run up to $80 per session, while a home enema kit is between $6-$10)

Hang in there!

Thanks for the advice.

Do you think enemas/ colonics are necessary or do they just help speed up and facilitate a process that would happen naturally?
