I've been high raw for about 6 months, and in the past few days I've had this strange rash on my ribs and forearms: it's not itchy or really red...it's like the ghost of rashes past. Now, the funny thing is, about 6 years ago I had a terrible bout of hives in those same places.
Should I put some cream on it? And could this rash be a remnant of that old bout of hives?
Hi Jesse,
Did you ever find out about your rash? Funny, because I just started my raw food journey not too long ago and now I have psoriasis. It's a skin rash disease, no cure, and doctors believe it's genetic. It's not linked to eating raw food. I've read that there are many triggers such as stress, allergies, and diet. I'll be getting checked out soon by an Allergy Specialist, so we'll see.
The rash I had went away on its own -- never figured out what it was! But I think it helped me to go on an anti-candida diet: I cut out fruits and sweets/starches, stick to raw veggies and seeds. I also took CandiGone for a month or so, and supplement with probiotics. This has helped my skin and digestion enormously!
Anyway, good luck with the psoriasis! There's a woman on this forum who had post-partum psoriasis -- you might check out her posts to see what she did.
Hi Saxon,
Not sure how you are doing with the psoriasis at this point. My husband has had it for the past 10 years. It had gotten so out of hand he was on the verge of getting injections for it. I talked him out of that. The next step was oral meds. Fortunately, his liver levels were too high to go that route. Whew!
Simultaneously, (about a month ago or so) we went 75% raw. Guess what? His psoriasis has faded. Inflamed red pateches on his back, elbows and knees are gone. The ones on his thighs and ankles are fading fast. He barely uses the ointment the docs prescribed.
We have eliminated all yeast, starch, dairy, and gluten from our diet. No bananas.
He is also taking Solar Ray's Yeast Cleanse on a regular basis, had a colonic, doing a total body cleanse (which began this week), drinking green smoothies and getting lots and lots of sun (and a decent amount of excercise [sweating is key!])
I am pleased with his pattern of healing thus far and looking forward to even better results. I hope this helps.
this is important to me at this point. i hadnt seen this discussion and started one on my own rashes. i am having big trouble with them now...
thank you for sharing the info on yeast and starches. i think this would help me too!
how long were you off yeast, starches and bananas Peanut? Did you have a colonic? Did you have nuts? and especially coconuts?
Hi Aishwara: I started taking probiotic supplements (a dose of 40 billion each morning), plus enzymes with each meal. I cut out all fruit and sweets, all starch. I ate mostly nuts and veggies for about two months. Now I seem to be able to tolerate medium-sweet fruit (berries, watermelon). I've continued with the probiotics and the enzymes.
I don't eat a lot of coconut, so I'm not sure what to say about that. Good luck!
