I don't know if I could ever get sick of green smoothies but I do however like to make my own sushi.

I tend to use my food processor and chop up the greens & vegis so I can fit more in a smaller space. I like to chop up greens & yellows/reds sepriatly then layer them in the roll so you see the different sections. Adding something hard like a slice o celery is great for adding texture.

Thanks for reminding me about this, I think I'll make some for lunch :)

My favorite dip to put on anything, including salads, is a puree that starts with bell peppers, usually yellow, a squeeze of citris, generally lime, a small handful of nuts (something fatty like cashew or pinenuts) a little olive oil, sea salt and a hot pepper...I like habanero....so good!

That is so cool that your kid liked the raw sushi! I haven't made any for some time and I need to do that again! I have never seen anyone use a nut mixture for the rice before. How creative. I have seen people use cauliflower (which I don't care for). So next time I will give nuts a try!

yeah, I'm just giving ideas on how to switch it up if you like another way--mainly that my 6 year old won't eat salad but she loves sushi--I'm also not eating fruit as it explodes the candida for me so green smoothies are not quite appealing to me with no fruits...I'm a big variety type person, and if you look at one roll of sushi compared to eating a salad, it's a good mixture of greens.
We are lucky to have a lot of asian grocers here and I just happened to stumble on the mother load...you can get raw nori online by companies who are careful not to overheat in the process.

Back at Ann Wigmore's (many years ago) some students claimed seed 'cheese' gave them candida. These same people were eating almost exclusively very sweet fruit. At another institute I remember this guy with AIDS who claimed cultured seeds gave him thrush, but this same guy was using Clorox to bleach all the vegetables he ate. Personally, I love maki made with soaked rinsed drained ground up almonds. I can eat some every couple of days. Ground up greens sound great in it. So nice your six year old likes them. They're fun. When mine was little also enjoyed helping roll and fill them.

Thanks for posting. Interesting blog. You look different (always good) in the Summer.

I think this is probably because most nuts are acidic...except almonds which are alkaline...the idea is to get your body back to alkaline--this seems incredibly difficult to do with systemic candida...I also think I may be harboring quite the mercury levels...this I traced back to why wheat grass juice makes me so ill to my stomach...when I get my truly raw almond order in a few days I'm going to cut all other nuts for a while and see if it gives me a leg up. There are so many variations of the yeast starvation diet it's hard to make informed decisions but I just keep trying different things and eventually I'll find what works right for me and my body condition. Thanks for your input...as always

You're welcome Crystal. At Dr Ann's, the only nut we used were almonds (once pine nuts in my experience there). Why are they more alkalizing? Do they just stay fresher because of their very nature? We used seeds more frequently. They don't have to be peeled, so take less time. Ann used almonds for her own personal mainstay consumption frequently. So the comment on the difference in almonds as opposed to other nut is solely based on what you read?

I wish yeast didn't have to be starved or killed, but we just fed whatever competes with them. I've never been told I have yeast (due to any test result) although I have taken various practitioners' tests. Also, people have guessed I have yeast. I'm thinking maybe I do though; because AV told me he saw penicillin in specific parts of me. I thought penicillin is mold. Anyway, he prescribed me lemon for that.

penicillin is an anti-biotic and antibiotics destroy the healthy bacteria that leads to yeast overgrowth. I've never been told I have yeast I just figured it out from my own research on what the symptoms are...look in the mirror at your tongue...it should be shiny and pink...instead does it have a filmy cover? If you can make a toothprint on your tongue with your top teeth that's yeast. Almonds I read were alkaline when I studied the difference between alkaline and acidic foods...all foods leave either an alkaline or acidic ash during digestion, or some are neutral and there are varying levels and degrees of alkalinity or acidity...this is not the degree of acidity of the food itself, but how it reacts in the body...for instance, oranges and other citrus fruits would seem acidic, but they leave an alkaline ash during digestion, as do most fruits and vegetables. But then you have the problem of sugar, which feeds yeast too...that's why I have cut most fruits...I'm discovering it seems that my bigger problem is mercury...detoxing for this has become my current goal, but at the moment I still have almalgam fillings...can't afford to get them removed...but it is on my list of things to do for optimum health.

I make sushi with grated carrots instead of rice. I also put in mock tuna (http://www.fresh-network.com/acatalog/tuna-stuffed-tomatoes.html) which is an excellent vehicle for sprouts. Even if I don't do the mock tuna I put lots of sprouts in.
