Hi everyone. I am currently reading, "The Disappearance of the Universe," by Gary Renard. I am only about 1/3 through... has anyone read it?? I am also curious about "A Course in Miracles." I would like to study this after I finish the 1st book mentioned and then "A New Earth." I was just wondering if anyone has been down this path and could send a little light my way. Any input is appreciated. so glad to be a part of this group!
I'm 2/3 through A New Earth. I'm really enjoying it... he really focuses on the ego and how it functions, as a filter of the present moment. What's the Diesappearance of the Universe about. BTW, I highly recommend another book called The Holographic Universe.
Hi Rebecca. I agree with Rawny. The Holographic Universe is a fantastic book - I read it last summer, mostly whilst sitting in my local park, and it gave me a real buzz. I simply coundn't put it down. I've never had so many strangers come up to me and start conversations having glimpsed the cover of that book. It certainly pushes the boundaries - and actually makes quantum physics kinda interesting to boot (who'd have thought...?!) - and (in my case), it can potentially make you some new friends!
(sorry - I can't comment on The Disappearance.... tho)
Looks great Rebecca, I read an excerpt on Amazon.com. Thanks for calling my attention to it. I just read "A New Earth" by Eckhart Tolle, and I highly recommend it and all his books especially "The Power of Now". I'm currently reading "Master Key System" by Charles Haanel, which is also great. "A Course in Miracles" is on my computer to read soon. I would also recommend "Think and Grow Rich" by Napoleon Hill, which is a classic. Some of these books are in public domain, and can be downloaded for free at Scribd.com which is also a great resource. I am also a long time meditator, having practiced transcendental meditation for many years. Self improvement should be a lifelong goal, and these kinds of books can be very helpful. Studies of; Body(physical ), Mind(intellectual) and Spirit(emotional) coalescing to create a synergy that integrates all aspects of life, are what we should strive for. In the end, we are responsible for educating ourselves. The systems of education put into place, and "certifying" people to live productive lives, while good, are often lacking in many areas. It's good that you are taking control and learning to grow at such a young age. Check out my art which reflects my own personal journey and struggle.
