Hi Justine! Highly recommend Natalia Rose's book, "The Raw Food Detox Diet" (see group by the same name here at GI2MR) for guidelines on maintaining a bountiful milk supply. Be sure to include plenty of natural fats in your plan (avocado, olive, coconut, etc.) -- Natalia is also big on greens/green juices, and I found some avocado oil which is perfect for my salads! I've been following a modified version of this program for about six months now and have definitely seen an increase in my supply, both in quantity and quality, much to the delight of my nursing toddler who has just finished cutting her molars. Nursing is a godsend, especially at times like these! Whatever you do, keep asking questions until you get answers (on this forum, network, or elsewhere,) because there -is- a way to bring up baby on the ultimate heathy lifestyle! Let us know how it goes!! :D
Every morning I have a fruit smoothie with two big handfuls of greens/spinach in it..... then I have whatever I feel like for lunch and as a snack I have the second half of my morning smoothie...( I make enough to have two big glass fulls...one for the am and one for later that day) For dinner we have vegan meals.... no red meats...maybe chicken or fish once to twice per week....
The most important thing to me... is to have a lot of fresh fruits and veggies on hand...... I start to feel worn down and tired without my fresh raw foods....plus lots of water!! My main guidelines for how I and my family eat is no diary, no sugar, no meat, no processed foods..... Granted we are not 100% on any of it...but we give it our best daily. ;0) This of course is just how we do it...
