Give it to me Raw - Raw Food Community

im 24 with ulserative pan colitis. that means my immune system is confused and is trying to kill my large intestine. i havent been able to eat any fruit, veggitables, whole grain or any other form of fiber for well over 6 years without getting very sick. Is there a way that i can still get the foods i love and miss without getting very sick, and can good foods stop my immune system from going haywire? I really want to avoide surgery if i can but my disease wont ever go into remission. can anyone give me any suggestions?

Reishi has helped me with autoimmunity.

There is a lot of info about reishi and medicinal mushrooms. Once I was sick (the flu or something) and made a soup with maitake, shitake, and reishi and I felt better shortly after.
Here is a link I found: http://www.naturalnews.com/021498.html

I've had it in tea and tincture mostly. Cats claw (uncaria tomentosa) the root bark has also helped me with autoimmunity. (also in extract)

Id advise reishi in capsule form - preferably new chapter or mushroom science (if you are in the US, new chapter or MRL if UK). The tea is NOT for the faint hearted. It is sooooooo profoundly bitter that even the most hardened of herbalists cant gulp it down!! Id say 4-6 capsules daily, split between morning and evening.

Same goes for turmeric, the tea is gross and you will have an orange smile from now until eternity...lol. Id get a decent brand capsule, maybe solgar or a company of that calibre. You are looking at about...1 cap twice daily.

Good luck

lol, it didn't turn my smile orange, but it did taste disgustingly bitter. I like extact better than pills cause I was having trouble swallowing solid things.

Another thing about Aajonus vonderplanitz' pd, Peter, AV started eating raw cause he had perotinitis that got medically treated, so turned into cancers, got that treated and they cut nerves to get rid of stomach acids to assist healing, then was told he could never eat meat again cause he could produce no hydrochloric acid and that his digestive system was weak like an aged person or an infant. When he was about to die in hospice he tried carrot juice and it went from there.

"When he was about to die in hospice he tried carrot juice and it went from there." Do you mean he ended up living after all?

Yes. That was forty years ago. He's doing very well. Has been 100% raw since 1972. I have a photo of him in the middle of my GI2MR profile page. The picture is from about 4 years ago, but he looks good now (and I mean in person too). At 21 he had been in the hospice because the MD's said there was nothing left that could be done and that he would die in about three months.

Wow! That is awesome. He looks great! I need to cleanse my lymphatic system. Any suggestions? Also, great page. How did you get the background and design on it? (~_~)

Clicked the link below the profile pic. Chose a background. Chose colors. Uploaded pics from my computer. That's it really.

Using a dry brush every morning before a shower - learned that one from Natalia Rose and even though I don't do it every day, the days that I do it and my skin goes a healthy pink colour - I can feel the blood circulating really well and I have this curiously orgasmic feeling all over my skin for the rest of the day. You don't even need a dry brush - you can use a natural sea salt exfoliator - that's what I do. Just scrub it like you're cleaning off the dead skin cells.

Okay maybe not orgasmic, but near it.

I would say take it slow, introduce 1 food at a time..and be persistant. if all you can handle is smoothies, then do just that.

It isnt easy, I would be lying if I said its been easy to kick my crohns to the curb..but its gone and I dont even intend to take another steroid or painkiller for it in my lifetime!!

Keep your chin up, it is more than possible, it can be hard to retrain your brain after years of being told no fibre, no veggies, no fruit..basically to live on crap.. I was living on babyfood and crackers before this. Cant express in words how much this has given me my life back! Medication free now over a year

Anyways just wanted to wish you well and let you know your not alone! plenty of ex crohnies and UC sufferers around..that are now 100% healed! yipee!
