Give it to me Raw - Raw Food Community

What's normal for you?

I used to menstruate at new moon, ovulate at full moon. I've almost always been light first day, heavy second day, absent third day and spot fourth. I normally don't get PMS, but when I'm toxic (like this past decade) I get a headache, pain in the back then cramp within a matter of hours at the beginning of day one. For at least the past year I think I've been about every twenty-eight, starting between Sunday afternoon and Tuesday morning. I just finished my menstruation from Sunday.

I'm hoping if I keep track of my own semi-publically like this it will help somehow. Add something about your own or whatever you want, related.

You use nothing? Do you still go about your day or are you home during that time? I noticed that now I am following more of a 80/10/10 diet, my periods have only lasted 3 days. Wonderful!! I use a Diva Cup, even though it doesn't fill up even a third.

Come to think of it, about 4 days after the new moon, and also about four days after the full moon I used to semi fast every month. Maybe that kept my ovulation oriented to the moon. I don't do that now. Maybe I should start again.

I forgot to write it. I got mine Friday. Saturday was it's main day. By Sunday it was nothing as usual. I wonder who else will jot theirs down here or have any other ideas to share for the new moon club. I made sure to eat my raw red food this time, but not some of my other foods. It was hard, we were away from home.

28 doesn't sound bad, at least it's not a seven day flow like some women. Your cycle is probably shorter from more fruit and less greens I think? Thank you for participating. I wonder who else will?

I don't think mine had a texture, it wasn't clotty or anything. It just looked like blood. I'll examine better in the future and jot it down next time I write here.

I haven't been using anything either. It usually only comes out when I'm on the commode.

usually around the 26th. super heavy and painful the first two or three days moderate the next two and just a bit for the last. lasts no less than a week. no tampons. organic pads. should finish the day after tomorrow. does anyone know what foods i can eat to lessan the pain and/or flow?

Some women who eat 'normally' otherwise, eat only fruit during their flow. I'm not sure for menstrual pain, do you mean uterine cramping? If so, aloe and black pepper. Grain might make it worse, and then there's the 'evil' salt. I know a lot of foods for other pains. Raw mushrooms and raw red meat I think are supposed to prevent clotting during that time, but not pain.

Hi Sara
For me the less I eat and more raw juices I drink the better. The minute I eat anything heavy the cramps start. So I go light. Try it that should work. If it does not work go for a juice feast and that will help your WHOLE system run better. Years ago I found juice fasting to counteract female issues and it worked like a CHARM.

I know you asked about foods, but I used to lessen the duration of how many days by doing enemas during.

My cycle is about 28 days, has been since puberty. My menstruation lasts 3 days and is always light, heavy, light. I don't generally get PMS but I do get some mild lower back pain during some cycles, which may or may not be related to having large breasts and the fact that they get bigger! I almost always start mid-week, it's super predictable.

The only real 'pain' that I experience is when I ovulate - My mother and I are both blessed/cursed with the ability to feel the egg get released, and it's not necessarily painful, but often uncomfortable enough that I have to stop what I'm doing for a couple minutes. Most people think this sounds so terrible, but I actually really love it - It makes me feel very in touch with my body, and makes me appreciate how well this machine of mine is working.

I use a Divacup and I have unbleached pads for the occasional time I'm in a situation where I need them.

One thing I've started doing this year is mono eating on the day that I start my period, and the day that I ovulate. I have no scientific basis for it, but I just feel like giving my body a break on those days, letting it work on more important things than digestion!

I always felt ovulation too, did get a couple of slightly painful cramps from it in recent years.

Is the Diva cup awkward? I've been thinking about using one, but I'm nervous about it.
