food poisoning(?)
since starting raw in March this year, I've had food poisoning TWICE. I've never had it before, and wasn't sick like this since at least my early teens- over 15 years.
has anyone else had this occur more frequently with raw foods? do you know what caused it? how to avoid it?
the first day I planned to start on 80-90% raw in March, I had to eat a restaurant meal (salad) and got extremely sick for the next two days. It set back my raw ambitions for a couple weeks. :)
now, I've been 99% raw for about 2 months, and got mild food poisoning last night. Can you get it from a banana or grapes? I didn't have much food in the twelve hours prior to getting sick (at 3am). It seems extremely unlikely that some raisins, nuts, dried apricots, or a larabar caused it- the other foods I had. I feel fine now, but I'm afraid to touch the $6 worth of new organic grapes in my fridge...I only had about 4 of them last night.
any advice and suggestions would be much appreciated.
