Give it to me Raw

Jessica

i have a cold :( what should i eat?

I seem to find myself with a cold...stuffy sinuses, sore throat, plugged ears...any tips on what I can eat/drink to clear this up fast and make me feel better?

I'm pretty sensitive to sugars so I try not to have too much fruit...I think overdose of fruit sugar is actually what put me in this position in the first place by weakening my immune system (plus the strawberries I was eating in spite of my allergy...sigh) so hopefully there are some miracle veggies out there!?

Does anybody have suggestions? Other than lots of garlic and ginger I am at a loss...please help, I think my head is going to explode!

For your throat drink Bragg's apple cider vinegar mixed with fresh squeezed lemon juice and unheated honey. For your cold drink a mixture of unpasteurized pasture grazed cream or butter, unheated honey, lemon and whole raw pastured egg. Celery juice with a little unheated honey. No other sugar, lots of fats. Let your cold run its course. Don't let your system get dried out. Do an enema with your own urine (unless you have a uti). Do neti pots. Do ear candling. Rest. Bundle up to keep warm. Your pick of what you will and won't do, but I recommend all.

I don't eat dairy or eggs so those things are out but I really like the sound of the celery juice with raw honey. Maybe I'll also juice some cucumber for hydration.

It does work too. But fasting on distilled water Debbie? What fast do you recommend as I know there are many.

I wrote a blog on peppermint essential oil which works well for colds. Check it out, I am not a techy so you will have to scroll down to it, but I think you will learn something :) BTW it's easy to find because it's called the Peppermint Essential Oil Blog.....

Thanks for the blog link, I hadn't thought about using peppermint essential oil but I will try some when I get home. I think I will also start drinking it in a glass in the mornings, I usually get off to a slow start so maybe this will change things?

Green juice or ionized water is what we do around here for fasting/illness.

i tend to eat only fruit so my body doesn't have to work hard to digest food. you can eat fruit that's not sweet - ie bell peppers, cucumbers, tomatoes, etc.

you need vitamin A, C, and E. I usually drink carrot juice which is high in vitamin A. gypsy cold care tea is wonderful. and LOTS of rest. take care.

I have been drinking the ACV with lemon and honey, very tasty and soothing! I hope there isn't such a thing as too much. I've also been making juices/smoothies using celery, cucumber, carrot and honey with some ginger. Very hydrating and comforting.

I am much less stuffed up although my throat still hurts...but feeling much better, thanks everyone for the good advice!
