Give it to me Raw - Raw Food Community

the romanticized raw pregnancy?

to all those who are or know anyone who was raw during pregnancy.
we've probably all read about jinjee's amazing experience with all her babies on thegardendiet.com
i looovvvee the idea of eating 100% raw during pregnancy, having a painless (or close to) birth and snapping back to my pre-preg weight in around 10 days. raising my babies 100% raw for as long as possible/ or as often as possible.

so who's done or is doing this?
is your experience similar to what jinjee has experienced?

any before and after photos?

love you all :)

I totally agree.Plus I think that a babies calmness has so muc to do with their own acid/ alk. balance and so much of cooked foods are acid right off the bat. Where I think it is easier to balance this on raw.Think of your breast milk alone and now putting that into your baby if its all funky on cooked.
My daughter is 3 now and I truly think that she would not have had the skin rashes she had if I had been feeding her clean breast milk.I did not even know about raw when my son was a baby and I think he would not have had colic .Anyhow fun to tink about all of this.

Love that you are thinking it out before pregnant

wow excellent point about the acid/ alkaline balance of children. i hadn't thought of that. that's a seriously important revellation! we know that people are more suseptable to disease when their ph is acidic....it makes SO MUCH SENSE that in a little baby that they would be especially prone!
oh my gosh.
i bet that could be a large part of why raw babies don't get the standard baby illnesses like ear infection, ect.

brilliant, sunshineone.
you've shawn one on me!

I wasn't raw, but my child's spirit talked to me during the conception act itself. Sounds crazy, huh? It's true though. I also nursed (no supplemental glucose water, no nipple protectors, no pumping, no freezers none of these ever ) for several years, so maybe that qualifies as some raw. Baby's first foods were freshly extracted juices and fruit, I fit the profile a little bit, I think.

You can nurse a child until 12 if you want- as long as the child sucks then milk is made. I nursed my twins for 4.5 years and the others for 3.5 years.
With every pregnancy I had dreams before hand that I would conceive (a miracle really if one knew my situation) but the funny thing is the day I conceived my twins, that night I had a dream that 2 Moses baskets were floating down a river- funny when you think about it (fallopian tubes, eggs,) and I always knew the sex of my child.
I communicated with them in utero and they were able to communicate back as to how their environment was, what problems there were etc; and it was correct 100% of the time.

My child at that first communiquee told me what gender, period. I was happy, but did not want any tests to make sure and kind of wanted it to be like everyone else, not knowing. Yes the fallopian tube river analogy is interesting. The body and mind are so marvelous.

Sucking isn't enough in my opinion. Feeling good about providing that nuturance is essential for the flow, is my feeling.

And Lulu, you're welcome too. Did you ever ask your Dad about tribal living and nursing? How long do they nurse? Maybe it's not as important living in a tropical jungle with the wild juicy fruit. Starch (yucca) is supposed to help milk quantity too.

Like my parents (but not from the green jungle).

It's funny because the next day after I conceived them I told friends I was pregnant with twins- I'm sure at the time they thought I was nuts........ after each conception I knew that moment I was pregnant and would tell my ex husband each time (I won't go into details what he said because it was so cruel) and I was always correct. I don't know how exactly this works but perhaps because I grew up eating organic whole foods (not even all raw) my body was more in tune? Just a thought as who really knows for sure.

Were you breastfed? I think breastfed people are sometimes more intuned with their bodies and with other natural rhythms.

Yes, important to listen to yourself, and not give much power to negative people when you're pregnant.
