I am going to start investing in my 'raw' kitchen needs and i was hoping to get some feedback on your experience and recommendations for choosing a good (vita) mixer and a dehydrator.
we have a family of 6 and on a 'budget', i am also not a 'gadget girl' and enjoy keeping my life as simple as possible...i do use my blender alot for smoothies, so i don't mind splurging on a good mixer but i have a small kitchen to boot :) and i am falling in love with raw breads and crackers and would love to make these myself.
Excalibur dehydrators are the best, but expensive. I was lucky and found mine on ebay for under $100, used. They will last FOREVER though. My dad has one from 1982 that he still uses. It's easy to get replacement parts for them, but he's never had to do that with his and I haven't had to do it with mine either.
we have an excaliber. i think it is better than the round ones because you can have whole sheets of stuff like crackers and bread.
i have a cuisinart food processor and blentec blender. the blender is for smoothies primarily although we are using it more and more instead of the food processor at times. so if i had to choose only one i would go for the blender. the blentec is amazing but not cheap. you can get used ones on ebay.
