External reality being a mirror concept

It is said that our external reality is simply a mirror of our internal thoughts, beliefs, and perceptions. Additionally, we attract persons/relationships, and situations, that "mirror" back to us what is going on inside of us and not them rather than receiving it as outside of us.

There is also the thought that everything we experience, people, situations, relationships, etc. are nothing more than a hologram or dream per se and not a "real" experience. In other words, we are all merely in a constant relationship with ourselves simply in different forms.

What are your thoughts on this?

Thanks for your insights.

Yeah I agree with this too...I love these kind of threads into the unknown.

I always think of that Holo Deck on Star Trek where they can choose the programme they want and experience what ever it is that they want to experience just as if it were real life. Imagine if life IS a giant holo deck!

Subconciously we decide what it is that we want to experience then we look around to find examples that will confirm, or allow us to experience what ever it is that we want to experience...even if to our earthly minds we could never imagine actually wanting to endure something terrible or that hurts us.

I remember once wanting a brand new silver Mercedes...then after going to view one I saw nothing but Silver Mercedes cars on the road...which put me off getting one ;-)

Yesterday I went out for a walk and saw nothing but women who looked like Keira Knightley......yeah I know what your saying...in your dreams ;-)

LOL!! Well, Pete, from your dreams to reality come forth Keira Knightley!! Remember the saying, we are each 6 degrees of separation from the person we wish to meet. I have experienced and believe this to be true.

Your illustration about the Mercedes is true. I think when we put forth our thought and focus with the right intention, the Universe responds with "signs of land" as a means of testing and re-testing our intention and desire. The more we want it the more it comes. I did this with a vehicle and found first a friend of mine wanted the same one and got it then I ended up manifesting it in accordance with my desire/needs. There is always a process. Maybe what you really want is the new Audi sportscar (can't think of the model) that goes 0-200mph in like a millisecond so you can drive by Keira Knightley and say, "Look what I got Girl!! and you say you want me now??? NOT!!" Then speed off and leave her in the dust!! (LOL)

look at the world around you. World we live in is littetally set up and ran by flesh eaters and do you see what they had done to our sorroundings. Wars, hatred, social injustice, greed and power. Destruction of forests, soil, waters. Those are the reflections of meat eaters energies in their heads. SAD diet is full of unloving energy which is perfectly seen in the world today. If we had vegetarian humanity, do we think that world would be more compasionate towards our sourroundings. I bet, Yes ! Our thoughts are opposite of flesh eaters. We are what we think, say and do.................

Do you honestly believe this? There are several people that do a lot of good for this planet and they're not vegetarians let alone raw foodists. Also we are ALL a part of the results that we see here. I'm a believer in past lives and I feel that all of us at some time in history contributed to the destruction of the world that we see around us.

I enjoy focusing on the wonderful changes that are occurring as a result of many of us waking up and doing our part to shift the consciousness on this planet. It does no good to play the blame game because it only creates more of the war mentality that has contributed to the insanity we have ALL experienced for thousands of years.

It seems to be a matter of continual conscious response to each stimuli that is presented before you. When you are up against an opposing force of love, that entity or person has manifested to first test your own intention, and secondly to test your response of love or matching their lower level vibration. The old adage, "Will you be the change you are looking for?" I think we have reached a point over time on this planet where more and more people are awakening to the fact that they no longer have to be a robotic response to other's wills and simply live from the essence of their soul as was intended (being love). Global peace is coming no doubt. War comes repeatedly when man fails to face that he is the cause of his own destruction. Team individual internal war, with collective consciousness on that level, + Ego desire via the form of leadership to lead the cause and you have a war. Reverse this and allow the soul to lead and you have persons (such as in this community) who desire to allow others to evolve on their own time and course for the higher good.

Just beautiful! :-) The wonderful thing is LOVE is all there is,but until enough of us re-member and know this from the depths of our soul. There will still be duality on this planet. There has really been no wrong in it because we have enjoyed experiencing contrasts, but for many of us we have learned all that we can here and it's time to lift the energy up on this planet and move on in our spiritual journey.

I sure do. I ask to name those meat eaters who do good things for this planet . And do not mention Al Gore, becouse he still ignores his own diets impact on this planet. Who else ?

I'm gonna have to politely disagree on this one, Michael. I would never leave out Al Gore, despite his oversized carbon footprint. His work on behalf of the planet is recognized globally and has had an immensely positive impact. What a positive force he has been in our world!

See now I find the whole "flesh eaters" arguement unproductive and in my experience of working within this field that attitude outs off more people than it attracts.

As I have mentioned in previous threads Hitler and his right hand man Himler were both vegetarians which kind of shoots the whole eat vegetables and you'll be a loving kind soul down in flames a bit in my mind.

Most "flesh eaters" of today are only eating what they have been led to believe is the right foods to eat and I wouldn't necessarily call all flesh eaters bad people although anyone who has an acidic body is more likely to be the kind of person/ world leader that you mention.

If 80% of people ate less meat it would have a far more significant affect on the world than just 2% of people being vegan and vegetarian by a long way.

Good points. Raw foods vs. meat are opposing vibrations (upper & lower). The more raw you eat it aids in elevating one's spirit to become more atuned to that which is outside of one's physical senses. However, persons who consume meat primarily can still be peace-lovers and be wise...it all boils down to intention. The raw foodists gain intuitive abilities, but will they use that knowledge to promote the betterment of themselves, others, and society? The carnivores face the same..though they may be obtaining their external information from such things as pattern-watching in human beings, learning to assess other's weaknesses (as in Hitler and other dictators), or the passive-agressive person who learns to manipulate others by gained info. Raw food doesn't make us free of fault....In my opinion, it makes us more responsible because we have chosen to know better to start with.

Fabulous points friends!!

I have a problem with the idea of superiority based on food choice- perhaps that comes from being part of a racially oppressed group of people and having to struggle with racism all of my life. I definitely do not want to be part of a group of people who think they are superior because of what they eat. I am not a better human being just because I eat mostly raw foods. My character, which is peace-loving and community-oriented, was that way before I discovered raw foods. I strive to be a good human being because that is how my meat-eating parents raised me. I choose to eat raw for health reasons, not because I feel I am superior to anyone else.
