400 and 800 are def the most hardest races, because at the end it is a burnout with every muscle tightening up. You just have to fight through it. Also, the most fun races to watch. I still go back and watch track meets at my high school.
I tend to munch on: bananas (4-5per day), nuts (a must for me), green smoothies (personal fav w/ superfoods), and good size salad (on a good day). I am don't force my self to be 100% raw, so i tend to get by a small dose of pastas and mexican foods (burritos, ect...)
Having garbanzo and kidney in your diet a def plus. Where do you go to college?
hats off! i did both for all 4 years of highschool. def keeps you on the toes. track&field is my sport, i ran the 400m, 800m and 400m relay. what high calorie foods do you eat trough out your day, so you can burn all the calories off when running?
i do more of freestyle dance - hiphop, basics break dancing, and a little popping - still practicing into it.
Hi Breanna. Yeah, I haven't been on this site much myself in a while. The tree...well, things are really shifting a lot there right now. They decided to end the apprenticeship programs and quite a few people have left, (including me). I'm still living in Patagonia, just not working at the tree. At the moment I'm on a road trip, helping my friend move back east. I'm waiting to decide what to do or where to go next. All in all, life is good :)
great pictures, i'd once run 10 km on the beach and dunes and felt like i was more death than alive, but i made it through the end of the race :)
i'm new here, could you tell me what i can drink besides water and thea?
sorry fot my terrible englisch, i'm from holland, reading is fine but writing :(
Hi B,
Not sure exactly, But Scott Jurek put on an exceptional running camp....great people came....I was cooked vegan than, so it was good vegan food for me too....I feel sooo much stronger as a runner Raw 8/1/1.
Hey it's been a while, I think I was one of the firsts to leave you a comment. Anywho, I never asnwered your question! (Awful me)
I just wanted to let you know that Raw Food, if you haven't discovered so yourself yet, can be tricky at school, but if you really want to, you can absolutely accomplish it.
I live about a 20-min train ride away from Boston, so on the weekends I like to take my time and go to Whole Foods, just pick up new stuff and have a descent meal for the week. During the week however, I make do with the salad bar, it's really not my favorite, but I always keep celery and some kind of nut butter around.
I really want to know how you're doing, so keep me posted!
peace,
priscila
Fresh Coconut Water is the best. Make sure you get a Young Thai Coconut. In some areas they are hard to find so hopefully you have a good supply near you. Farmers markets or Whole Food stores are good places to find them. They are white on the outside; this is the husk. If you go to you tube and search for opening a Young Thai coconut there are some great little videos to show you how simple it is. I made all kinds of messes before I figured out the art of opening one. Now I have one for breakfast almost every morning and sometimes after I run. You can drink the water with a straw and then spoon out the soft meat and enjoy a light meal. Have FUN!
Hey Hey!!
Im so excited for you........your juice feasting! AWESOME. Let me know how everything goes:)
I can't wait to plan a trip to Tree of Life. You lucky gal.

Hey Breanna,
I saw that you were fairly new to raw foods and just wanted to shoot you some encouraging words :)
I've been raw for a little over a year now...100%. Now it took me about 6 months to trasition, and what I did was ate breakfast and lunch all raw and added a salad to whatever I had for dinner...which was uaually sushi or a brown rice pasta dish or risotto and veggies steamed.
As I added in more raw foods, I slowly got rid of other not so healthy foods...I never liked red meat to begin with so that was really easy, but the last thing I had to kick was dairy. I ate raw dairy for about a year before finally giving it up.
Do you have any raw uncook books?? Probobly one of the easiest ones to follow is Ani phyo's raw kitchen......you can get it at amazon if you don't have it.
I tend to do granola cereal's made with soaked buckwheat grouts, green smoothies, raw juices, I love pineapple and strawberries and have been also eating lots of watermelon lately. Right now for dinner I've been doing big salads...with olives, sprouts, cucumbers, tomatoes, and a light dressing and a side raw roasted red pepper hummus with brown rice crackers....Mary's gone crackers...or if you have a dehydrator I LOVE corn chips.
My other favorite summer dish is Zucchini pasta...made with a mandoline or spirilizer and a good red marinara sauce. Lettuce roll ups are also an easy fool proof dish......Make a good pine nuts cheese...with olive oil and garlic and lemon juice and spread that on a halfed collard green top it with sliced cucumber, shredded carrot, tomato, sprouts, avacado ( my favorite), roll it up and dip in raw soy sauce or bragg's liquid amino's ( which taste like soy sauce).
Well I hope this gives you an idea for your meal planning...I pretty much taught myself...I love being in the kitchen :)
If you ever want recipe idea's email me jaynel.hollis@gmail.com
I have a great red sauce recipe!
Good luck and get creative in the kitchen!

Hiiiiii
absolutely, i love to share this passion with anyone!!
I basically drink juice all day, have a green smoothie in the afternoon, and a salad for dinner............ i feel much better when i drink a lot of liquid! when we eat it takes a lot of energy to digest (raw or not) but when we drink smoothies and juices it only takes about 6% of our energy, where solid is about 30%. So i feel light, clear, and FULL of energy throughout the day
i like to get creative with salads, making spicy onion rings, mac nut parmesan, and lots of sprouts and greens (all varieties: beet greens, chard, kale, romaine, butter leaf)
I love nuts but definately in a moderate amount.......... the best way my body processes nuts is when i soak them and make a milk (brazil, walnut, hemp seeds are my favorite) I don't even strain away the pulp. I use a vita mix so it does a really good job blending it smooth. So in the milk i will add maca, vitamineral greens, dates, celtic sea salt, and vanilla bean..........so yummy and filling!!!!!!
throughout the years i have found that this lifestyle is so much easier and fun with the right equipment............ i have gradually set myself up with a norwalk juicer, vitamix, dehydrator, wonderful knives and tools.
i hope that this is helpful to you =)

lol yes in many cases.
Eating raw fruits and vegetables doesn't make someone more spiritual. If that were case, we could just eat our way to enlightenment. Many animals eat raw fruits and vegetables and still live at a gross level of ignorance an...
