Hi Hibby!
I thought you looked farmiliar! Our kids homeschooled last year. Wish I had known you were raw and Primal for that matter...ha ha! Well, it's Blessed to meet you here and I look forward to connecting more...and we should have a raw potluck in SC. I'm going to start a SC meetup here soon so hope to collaborate perhaps. I remember that video we did at SLV on picture day too...ha ha ha!
Blessings to you & your family,
~Unity.
LOL! I accepted you as a friend. :) I just read your profile! You're an awesome guy. I just got thru writing a few thoughts in my "blog" here on my page. sigh.... Come meet me:)
ah....I like that man! John Gatto had alot great to say! I've 7 kids. My first born is in fostercare due to autism/schizo. I've 6 still at home that are 14,13,11,8,5 and 3 years old. I'll be homeschooling as long as it stays legal and then I guess I'll have to figure out how to homeschool "underground" LOL!! the way the govt is going that is what it looks like.
I don't know what brought me to your page but my heart is so full now. I'm in shock of the beauty of your family an your amazing photography eye as well as you being a mid-husband. That is amazing and I love to hear it because Drs. make everyone feel like its a medical condition and you need to be scared of birth. G-d bless you and your family some more. Please make me a friend if you'd like. I would like it!
Love,
Mia
Hibby! what's up! i've been MIA these days with these extra classes i'm taking. How are ya! Hows the fams!? :D I am actually researching side dishes from my mom and both my grandmoms that just involve a blender. :P I'll "DISH" it out here when I get some more info. How come i don't get Coffee Prince on KBS!??? *stomping my feet* I had a korean client visit me in the office yesterday...owwweeee I had a ball with him. he kept on talkin bout indian dramas..and i kept on talking bout korean dramas..hehe. cracked me up. He really was a great guy though...he talked about Korean history and recommended some shows and movies to watch. I'll pass it down once i get the translated version of my list.. his accent was really heavy and i did my best to jot down what he told me too. I guess there's a trip to Korea town waiting for me. :D
thanks a lot for all that information, it really helped me, i also saw the video and wow, the whole process looks so smooth. My husband freaked out when i mentioned him about having an unassisted home birth. He jut asked me to do it like everyone does "in the hospital". if only he could see more light on this subject. he thinks no one does home birth. sigh but i am not going to give up, i just need to know how i can convince him. any tips?
I had to laugh at the cheese whiz! What else could I do? You have the right idea about the jar of coconut as a back-up plan.
Way cool about your mid-husbandry. My oldest daughter "helped deliver" my youngest. When my sister had her last child, she did it underwater. The large bathroom was filled with siblings, parents, grandparents, cousins... so much better than strangers in a chemical scene.
I can't eat dairy, even raw, but some of our family has bootleg raw milk imported from out of state because they can't get it legally.
I was just looking at your profile, and see that you are a 'mid husband' I am sure it must have felt great having children at home unassisted.I just found out that i am pregnant and quite excited about it. I am planning to have an unassisted child birth at home, but also have a mid wife for assistance. I need to start looking for a mid wife. any tips on how to find a good mid wife in dallas area?
Hey Hibby!!! Wish I could say "how are you" in Korean! :) In your earlier comment you asked me "Do you listen to WBAI/Pacifica Radio?" And I completly missed that question! So sorry! I do listen to WBAI..that and I'm addicted to NPR as well. Why do you ask? are you also a fan? :) Pray tell! Oh... hope the fams and kids are doing well?
BTW.. the sexy- oh- so-happening cute couple in the drama "likeable or not" totally broke up...for the wrong reasons (money!) sigh... korean dramas today.. :/
what is Panacea?
I dehydrated with my dehydrater. It is one of my best buddies, along with my blender and juicer. :) It worked great. I cut it into smaller pieces, about 1 inch, then put it in for awhile. I figured then it was totally raw. Do you have one? Apparently not, since you were thinking of drying it outside. It is a great little tool. Its great to do it in winter, since there aren't any bugs.
I took the powder, after using my flax grinder on it, just a quarter or less of a teaspoon in juice or water. It tasted a little funny, but i just had to get past my blocks about eating it. :) You could fill a capsule, but I was into simplicity and it seemed pretty complicated to put it in a capsule.
Speaking of the cut stump and vessels, Rebekah's umbilical cord was still attached, so I formed it into a "B" for Beka, and dehydrated it along with. :)
I am definitely rethinking homeschooling my daughter. its my husband that isn't. And she loves being there. I think I have some commitment/stick with it/ issues to deal with before I can homeschool. I have a hard time planning, and when I actually do, then I have a hard time following through.
Then there are my questions about what I want to do with my life. I would love to know ASL already, but if I learn it now, my youngest will be 7 before I'm done. Then I could work part time, well, it just seems like maybe I need to put that on hold until the kids are a lot older, but then I will be a lot older!!
Do you plan to homeschool all the way through? I've wanted to for at least the first 2 or 3 years, until the kids are old enough to know who they are(don't know what age that is!), and distinguish real from imaginary(around age 7-8) I keep thinking if I'm raw I'll have so much more energy and clarity that I'll be able to do homeschooling AND go back to college half time. But now I'm not so sure. The kids are away from me a lot, and I'm feeling it along with them.
I live in Granada Hills, if you don't know where that is, its really close to L.A. So my uncle and I are planning a little field trip to see the cows at the raw milk farm and to other places near there for a weekend or something, it should be really fun.
Found this article online. Thought it was both interesting and amusing.
