I love Dublin I ived there for a few years. Thank you that's a good blog, yea I know 'down to earth' and there is a nice cafe and juice bar next to it I forget the name but its nice. also cornicopia do a nice selection of takeaway salads.
You should check out bikramyoga.ie if you'r into it its a great yoga workout done in the heat for an hour and half, they have great intro offers to get you hooked;) but its so good for you.
Yea Natasha would be appriciated on lazy days but I love love preparing food, I intend to create my own range of raw chocolate and snacks.
Where and what do you study?
I'm actually from galway I live in Carrigaline Co Cork which is nice, there's a good variety of restaurants for vegetarians a lovely one is 'cafe paradiso', but then again there's a veg option on most menu's anyway. I usually go to the 'quay co-op' veg restaurant- its mostly vegan and have good salads.
I go to 'blazing salads', 'nourish', 'cornicopia' and 'fallon & byrne' for food when I'm in Dublin, handy how they are all near each other too. Have you heard of 'Natasha Living Foods' in Dublin range she does nice flax crackers, dips and chocolates n stuff, she does workshops too, she has no website yet tho, tell me if you want her email.
hey sorcha~lovely name,
how is ennis? I haven't been there in ages, usually just pass thru on mi way to galway- thats where I'm from, I've heard that the west of Ireland gets some of the freshest most unpolluted air there and NZ, so lucky us;) . Is there a conscious restaurant there to support you on you with eating raw? I hope so.
lots of love to you xx
As for what I'd recommend to you, I'd suggest Derrick Jensen. He's a radical writer who's keenly interested in inequality and returning the planet to a more natural state.
I completely agree with how you eat raw foods: mo' raw is mo' better. I also think it's equally important what you don't eat, as well. I'm not opposed to people eating junk -- just try to eat "better" junk.
I haven't read much fiction in quite some time. Everything I read is non-fiction, lately. Suggest a good book for me.
It's really hard for me to pinpoint how long I've been raw, since that was never my intention. I just wanted to start eating better. I've been on this journey since mid-2005, probably. I would guess I got more raw-serious sometime in late '06-'07.
Which Vonnegut essays are you reading? Have you ever Wompaters, Foma, and Granfalloons? It's a novelized collection of his most famous essays.
Why do you say you are restricting your diet? As long as I have positive attitude and as long as I am enjoying foor I love, I would not worry too much about not incorporating more exotic fruits and veggies, which most of the times can be too pricey and non-affordable. Thank you for your lovely compliments.
hi!! wow how is the weather in ireland?? haha i sound like a news reporter but i heard its very nice there. have you tried preparing something raw for your parents (like raw lasagna or raw cake) and not tell them that its raw until only after they finish eating it. that should definitely interest them!! =D everyone has the same destinatioin but the journey is different for each person. =DD
I loved your Aristotle quote. You are embarking on raw journey at such a young age; and that speaks volumes of your positivity and soul-spirit that can work wonders for you.
What's your planning to be more adventurous in this journey? Everybody needs to achieve inner state of peace and tranquility. Let's pray for that state.
hello sorcha,
i just read your post on feeling like a failure.
rawfoods won't solve your emotional problems, but at some point in your journey they will be presented to you in full view and you will have to decide whether or not you truly want to move forward, or stay where you are, with the comfort and control.
solving emotional issues is like falling into a deep dark lake; you don't know where it ends and your not even sure where to begin in order to get out.... but at some point, when you've released all of the fears that have been weighing you down... you find that you are lighter, and more able to make your way back to the surface.
my journey was and is still very similar to yours, so i resonate, somewhat (every experience is different), with how you feel.
Interesting topic, I see a lot of crossover between raw food and spirituality. Having been raised 1/2 of my life in orthodox Christianity and the other 1/2 just slightly outside of Christian orthodoxy, coming into raw has been a bit of a walk "on ...
Ok, if you want to really know:
TV wastes your brain cells and your time. Turn it off, or better yet, sell it and buy yourself a bike or something like that. Not into getting programmed. TV is watching someone else having all the fun and doing th...
