I understand you have your dietetics liscence...I have my BA in adv. and marketing, i am wanting to go back to school..not sure I want to do 4 years of nutrition when i dont even agree with most of the college programs..i would love to do some sort of holistic nutrition but know how important the foundation of the body and how it works is..also..i would like an actual accredited program..do you have any advice or suggestions of schools or online distance programs? I am in LA right now. any advice would really help! thanks
Just wanted to say thank you for explaining your side. I know we have differences of opinion and I still disagree with you, but at least I understand where you're coming from.
Yeah, I already signed up for the meetup. I'm already a member of the NY and CT raw meetups. It's about time Jersey had one too.
Anyway, that's really interesting that you found a guy who does live blood cell analysis. I was going to do that in the city, but Pete Vincent told me that you need to go a few times to get a truly accurate reading. And the guys in Manhattan charge an arm and a leg. I've been looking for a guy with cheaper prices so I can see him more than once. Did you happen to find out how much he charges, or perhaps where he's located so I can contact him myself?
Thanks for the suggestion on produce delivery, Candy. There is a place that delivers to my area which, if it actually costs me $13 a day for greens, would be a savings over the course of a week. I am going to seriously compare a week of purchasing greens with a week of having them delivered to see which is more feasible. You are right- investing in our health is an ideal, but not always a reality when you have a restricted budget.
Thanks. Just so you understand, I completely believe in the freedom of the individual, and it's ultimately up to us "to be the change we want to be," to paraphrase Gandhi. But someone has to be a watchdog to protect us from the damage that corporations inflict on our society and our environment, and only government has the power to keep them in check.
thank you! i took all the photos, i love my pocket-sized little digital. . . so perfectly easy to travel with! and as a bonus the jewelry photographs it takes are great- which makes running my own sites so simple!
i agree about the glowing. .

Hi Candy!
There are no legitimate accredited programs for nutrition online. Don't let anyone tell you any different. Keep in mind that ANYONE can call themselves a "nutritionist". "Nutritionist" does not mean anything. Your grandma, your 2 year old, and even your dog can call themselves "Nutritionists"...lol. To become a Registered Dietitian (RD) you must complete a nutrition BS in an accreditated program, a minimum of 900 hours internship and pass a national exam.
I graduated from Loma Linda University in CA, which is a Seventh Day Adventist school. The advantages are that Loma Linda is a vegetarian school and community, and the education there is exceptional. Also, the program at Loma Linda is what is known as a "CUP" program which means that the internship hours are included during the academic time that you spend there. If you go to a non-CUP program, you will have to apply and be accepted by a separate internship program following graduation.
Another option is to get a BS in some other major, and then do a Masters of Public Health or a Masters of Nutrition either of which may include the internship hours that you need. I recommend finding out what your local universities offer in terms of a Nutrition and Dietetics major and go from there. Let me know if I can answer any more questions for you1
