I am actually going to Hawaii, Kauai next March, halfway from Australia and my friends in Toronto whom we are meeting up with. I'll have to look at a map and see where Hilo is. After the family leaves Kauai we are thinking of going to another island for 2 weeks. Any suggestions? Where is nice to visit at that time of the year? Where is best to get raw foods?
By the way you look incredible, 5 grandkids, you must be kidding!!! You so don't look old enough!

Aloha, I just returned from Oahu and met some wonderful people. I love the laid back vibes of the North Shore and I would love to incorporate the raw lifestyle along with the eco-retreat vision I have. I found land and I am looking into more of the details. I met a man that builds green and off the grid. I still can't believe how behind Oahu is in comparison with the other islands, but I think I will make a change with that. ;)
I met ONE person at a farmers market who just moved to the island 2 months ago and has started potlucks. I was thrilled. Hey, it's a start!
Anyhow, I am super excited to see where things go from here.

Aloha! I saw you lived in Hawaii! I lived on Oahu for a while and I am planning to go back in 3 weeks. Anyhow, I have never been to the other islands. I have been wanting to open a raw wellness retreat on Oahu. I can't believe there isn't even one raw food restaurant there. Anyhow, I am wondering if it is the best island to invest in. I noticed there is more raw stuff on Maui and The big Island. Hmmm.... has me thinking. :)

Oh my God. Where you live is INSANE! Good for you .. and you and your beloved look sooooo happy together .. truly living in paradise ... nice. And so into living vegan foods too! how come we have not yet me in Hilo? Been going there for the past 5 or 6 years 2-3 times a year leading raw food retreats at The Yoga Oasis - near the little town of Pahoa ... Well .. this year I am going to Panama in may so - will be missing my spring retreat .. but com Sept / Oct - I will be there for my retreat and we are ON for meeting in HILO for the wed. farmer's market ... and would love come and see your scene too .. you are about 30 min . from Hilo?? maybe you can help me! I tried my first coconut yesterday and I didn't do so well. I chopped it open, poured the water in the vita mix.. then scraped the meat out and blended it up. it was super thick! not creamy.. just mealy.. so I added water, but it is still a thick glob.. how do I make coconut milk?? help!!
I'm not sure I'll be able to come, but I'll ask around for a ride up there. There is another girl living here who is in to raw food, so if we get a car we'll probably be there.

PLA- have you had your ferritin (iron-storing protein) levels checked? You can have normal iron but low ferritin, and thus still have anemia symptoms. Or you can have leaky bool vessels due to spleen qi deficiency. Look at your tongue 1st thing in...
Thats interesting but would the body react differently to fruit sugars as opposed to all the other sugars? I didn't have these spots when I spent most of my time partying and living on junkfood.....

yeah tastes chamically to me too. weird cuz its totally natural but yeah it does. ifound when i grew the fresh plant that the bigger lower leaves when i ate them fresh tasted a bit more palatable than the smaller newer leaves. they tasted "greener...
