I LOVE LIVE! its my favortie restaurant, and was my first exposure to raw food.
so thankyou. i'm not all raw now, but i want to get there. i also have been inspired to become a vegan raw chef, im looking into places like Living Light Culinary Arts Institute for training possibly. i was just curious what your experience of becoming a chef was, and any adivice?
I love the Tao, Pete. What's cool is I'm half-majoring in Chinese at school, and I have and often read the original DaoDeJing. It's a trance-like experience, and he uses so few words - even fewer than English translators would make you think - that really, as you implied and LaoZi says, "道可道非常道“, or, "The way that can be named is not the eternal way."
Ever have days of silence? This guy inspired me to not speak for a few days; I fasted from food at the same time and can't express the nothingness - and therefore complete fullness - that I experienced during that time. Check out this video:
I'd love to hear your book recommendations - I'm getting back into reading after a bit of a break, so I'm looking for good reading material. I am jealous of your smoothie! Though I have a bunch of juicy persimmons waiting for me in the kitchen, so I think they'll make up for it :) This weather is amazing! I went for a long walk today and soaked up some sunshine.
You spelled it right! :) Well, after April 19 I get free flights since my brother recently got hired by Porter Airlines as Captain... so I will definitely take advantage of that!! I'll let you know when I'm back for sure :)
Hey Pete! Thanks for the props and well wishes man!! I was trained by Jody Allen of Loving Life Cafe. She studied under Alissa Cohen and had over ten years experience in living foods prep so it was an awesome experience learning from her! You can always ask a produce dept. employee at Whole Foods to cut one open so you can try it before you waste your money. It's store policy to let people sample things:)
