Hello, I'm the worst ever at keeping in touch with technology. I didn't even realize you posted on my page till now, you made the comment in may. I have no idea how I missed that. Yes, I have been to Omars, was there last week actually. I'm home for about two months now so lots of Omars for me. Things are good for me, how is AZ and the Tree? I would love to come and visit there for about a month. Maybe next year I can swing that.
Hi! I am new here. I joined actually because of your picture--you look so radiant and healthy, and I said to myself, that's a person I need to know. I have been vegan for 13 years and began eating 100% raw for 2 weeks now. I am open to any advice, tips, direction--you seem to know all about this lifestyle. Thanks!
Reading your posts makes me want to buy that house across the street from the TOL so I could walk there every day like I originally intended. Were you a participant at the spirit dance 2 years ago?
The restaurant is called the Organic Garden and it is in Beverly, Mass(just outside of Boston). It's actually still going strong! I needed a change in direction as I was feeling really burned out by the endless work and from sacrificing all of my other passions to keep the place running.
I'm an artist...I studied fine art in Boston and got into the culinary arts upon turning vegan back in '94. When I learned of raw foods in '98, I went raw overnight and never looked back :) I've always loved inventing in the kitchen, so living cuisine was a welcome challenge. My skills as a raw chef naturally blossomed when my friends and I opened the restaurant in '99...
As for my art, drawing and painting are my steadies but i also do sculpture, installation, sound and some film projects.
It was really cool reading about you...it looks like we share a lot of common interests :)
I really miss working collaboratively in the kitchen... from '99 to '03, my life was running a raw restaurant. I've thought about getting involved again, but this time I'm interested in working in a healing center or something more along those lines.
The whole capitalistic vibe of raw food in nyc is unfortunate (just saw a 3 oz container of macadamia 'cheese' priced at $16 !), but there are still some good folks here.
I'd love to hear of your experiences living/working in the Tree of Life community... sounds like great environment.

yeah we totally did... how have you been? I haven't swam in a WHILE. I've been thinking about applying to the TOL sprout house position, but it would be difficult for me to break away from my bands, and live in the bay area.
It is nice to meet you as well Courtney. Your beauty is the picture of health. Keep up the great work you doing. I hope someday I will get a chance to come visit all of you and do some long juice fasts lol.
your blogs are wonderful and fun to read! All your daily meals seem so covenient I wish I had places close by that were raw it would be so much easier to kick start this lifestyle..I was wondering about the digestive enzymes you speak of...if you don't mind sharing :)

tell me some about the tree...would they take a raw food chef during a few days twice a month?...don't need to get pay ...just wanna learn what is beyond the theory and share love vibes as always ...I work hard with passion and creativity and have fun even harder!... to be honest without effort at all ;-)

I don't think this exists for humans yet, unfortunately - but what I think would be the healthiest mattress (and virtually free of dust-mites, even bed-bugs which inflict some homes recently) for humans would be the same as the healthiest for pets...
