The most important thing is to find a style and a teacher that you can fall in love with. Consistency and regularity is very important with yoga practice. So, look around and try to find a class and teacher that you want to spend a lot of time with.
It's kinda fun being the only one here(that I know of)
I have learned a lot about myself, with the added luxury of having to 'foot the bill' all on my own. I've never read so many books in such a short amount of time. I've truly grown immensely ! And it's fun to educate people who are interested...I never just solicit information. I feel like that is almost always counter productive. people immediately go on defense, and rightfully so :) -You need to seek change on your own terms.
I am not sure what kind of Coconut it is. Seems like Coconuts come in different shapes and sizes. I can share how I sprout the Coconuts. Happy to hear someone wanting to try the Sprouted Coconut and sprout them at home too!
Been all the way raw since November, Olivia...transitioned into it for about two years before that....and lol!...i'm enjoying this fruity music right now!
Co-op is good, basically a grocery store that fits the health vibe a little better, plus friendly people. Usually lots of good locally grown produce too, and none of the produce is anything less than pesticide free...so, not bad :)
Yeah, I'm definitely flying solo-raw in Tallahassee, haven't met anyone else here who is raw, or even close ! Have met some cool people who are intrigued by raw foods, as a concept, but I'm not sure that they are ready to put it into action...the want is just not there! For now, I'll just strive to be the best example I can...hopefully that's what all of us can do...it's really the best catalyst for change....slowly and naturally.
There is an edible portion of a Sprouted Coconut that grows inside the Coconut. I still have yet to determine exactly what it tastes like and what the texture is like. Some say it is a cupcake, spongecake, cotton candy, or foam ball. I say it is like a spongecake. The taste is quite unique. It is sweet, juicy, and oily at the same time. I have now determined that the Juice from 4-5 fully Sprouted Coconuts taste like "Nut Nectar". I announced that in my video Juicing Coconut Sprouts in my video collection. Eating a Coconut Sprout is a memorable experience.
Thank you very much for your comment. I’m touched that you took the time to share your insight with me. I don’t expect raw foods to solve my emotional problems. I do, however, believe that perusing this lifestyle has many benefits, both physically and emotionally, and that is why I embrace it. Your analogy of the lake is most accurate, and while I don’t think I’ve quite reached that point in my journey yet, I know that it is imminent and hopefully will find the strength to move on some day.
Thank you for the words of inspiration. May your thoughtfulness be reciprocated and then some :)
By the way, I love the song on your profile. I see that we have quite similar taste in music. TMV ftw!
hey olivia!

i am a pretty curious kid, although.
i have been into rawfoods for a couple of years, but doing it in full swing this year on, not 100% though. I still enjoy my mom's indian cooking :).
hey gurl!! i'm soo sorry for taking so long to write!! i'm in california right now for business. michigan sounds wonderful!! =D i would love to go to africa!! especially egypt. that is actually something i really really want to do: learn arab and go to egypt- that would be so awesome!! =D don't worry, - sometimes i mean to write a comment and then i end up with a book!!! hahah next i'm going to costa rica but i'll be in mexico in the airport. i'm so excited because i've never been to mexico but i'll only be there for a few hours. still - that's amazing tho with the gymnastics. are you planning on taking it again. i really really want to start yoga!! did you take it?? what countries do you want to visit??
i feel better when i eat all raw, too :) yoga is what got me into raw foods in the beginning. i wanted to just feel lighter & more energized and sure enough, raw foods did the trick. i have been practicing yoga for about 7 years. it's very important to remember that yoga is soooo much more than the physical postures. some of my favorite books and ones i'd recommend are: the sivananda yoga companion, moving into stillness by erich schiffman, the yoga sutras with translation and commentary by sri swami satchidananda, and heart of yoga by desikachar....take care :)
Thanks for leaving such a great comment on my page. The water is a little cold right now in Hawai'i. Yes, Juicy Fruit Gum was designed to taste like Jackfruit. Can you think of another fruit that the gum tastes like? There must be some fruit it tastes like. I will be making a video soon of me eating the Jackfruit. There are agricultural restictions that don't allow me to send produce to the mainland US. Some websites sell dried Jackfruit, Sapote and other exotic fruits. That may be the closest thing besides flying out here and eating it fresh.
oh, i listen to all sorts of music. jeff buckley and sigur ros are two of my favorites...i am not completely raw. i first got interested in raw foods when i was your age and since then, i've been eating high raw. at one point, i was all raw for four months. are you into yoga?
I started pursuing alternative diets at a young age like you. I didn't find out about raw foods until 9 years later though. Catching waves in the ocean is the only activity I still enjoy from my cooked food days. There's nothing that compares to it. The wave pools aren't even close to the real thing. There is one here and in California and a very large one at Mandalay Bay in Las Vegas, Nevada that I have to. There's no need to envy me. I am a lot like you and you are perfectly able to do all the things I do and more. I want you to start saving money so can at least be able to see the waves here and get some surfing lessons. I know there are waves to surf in Florida, but it's a whole different ride out here. I am making a video of Jackfruit tonight. It tastes like Juicy Fruit gum. The quote "Would you be any more helpful to me if I were to put you in an oven at 350 degrees for 30 minutes?" I designed to argue against the belief that a food is improved upon by cooking it.
Thanks Loren. Makes sense to me. My problem is that when I blend (which means more volume of fruits) then i am more regular with my bowels. What I can eat & chew doesn't always trigger peristalsis in the same way. I had chemo a few years back and ...

Too little means your temperature will be below 37 degrees. And you probably lack energy and may have chronic dise...

Totally feel you on the north Florida=southern Georgia ! No real raw love here, but it's cool...there's a good co-op here, that makes things comfy :)
How are things where you are?
