No, the one in Melville that I go to is a small farm with a nice old man who does the farming himself. White post farms is kind of like a grocery store. I recently went there and was disappointed actually. I'm also pretty sure all of their produce is conventional. I'm starting to get into sprouting actually, have you tried that yet? Btw I read somewhere that all of Trader Joe's produce is irradiated, and all of their nuts are pasteurized. I don't know if this is true or not though because they were just some things I was reading on the internet.

Hey Rebecca,
I was just wondering if you knew of any farmers markets that were open yet. Unfortunately the one that I have been going to since last year in Melville (which was supposed to open in April) isn't opening for another 2 months! There's one in Islip that opens on June 6th.

Hi Rebecca,
Thanks for the add. the bike is hotttt. love it...got it from ebay. as for "Mr. Snuggalicious" - the baby, he's my cute nephew. I love lil' ones too. How long have you been raw? You seem to not cook really well! Get it? "Not cook?"

Hi Rebecca,
Thanks for the kind words about the Pure Bars. You should be able to find more flavors at Whole Foods and Westerly's in NY. Have a wonderful day!!

Hey Rebecca,

It's nice to hear from you too. I just thought I'd ask about Nu. I love the fact that so many people of color are on this site and supporting each other. As infrequent as it may be at times, I try to keep in touch with everyone.

Thanks, I love the scuba photos. By any chance are you certified?

Peace Rebecca,

I haven't been keeping up with site lately and I just noticed that NuNu isn't here anymore. I wasn't sure if she changed her name or simply left. She was a real cool sistah and I just wondered if you knew.

Wait, tropical fruits are irradiated? I feel so out of the loop lol! I heard that spinach is now too. I don't know if it's just packaged spinach (in the bag) or all spinach, even organic. Believe it or not, I have never been to whole foods! The closest one to me is in Jericho which is what like 30-40 minutes away or so? I shop pretty much everywhere too. I've been going to this Farmers Market in melville seasonally (the one I mentioned) but there's one in East Islip that's supposed to be certified organic with a vast variety of produce. I can't wait til it opens! I'll get you all the details on it. I forget exactly where it's located, somebody told me about it. I shop mostly at trader joe's for the most part though. I also like wild by nature, but it's out in huntington village and I hate going out there lol so I rarely do. I really wanna grow my own vegetables and fruits, but i'm like clueless haha. it can't be too difficult. I used do most of my shopping at Sherry's in babylon village, but I stopped going there because it's just way too overpriced. The tom's of maine deodorant that I got there was 9 bucks, and in the vitamin store it was 4 bucks LOL. Sherry's is crazy. It's such a shame too, I wish they weren't so overpriced because it's the closest health food store to me and the quality is top notch. They have everything! & yeah Trader Joe's is the place to go for some good raw organic nuts that aren't overpriced. That's what i love about TJ, their prices are good. It just sucks how you can't get truly raw unpasteurized almonds in the U.S. anymore (as far as I know) so i'm going to start buying them online, just gotta find a good website for that. I have yet to try any raw food restaurants, I so wanna go! I'm ganna get all the info on the farmers market in East Islip and let you know all the details!

Hey girl! Yeah, I got all excited when I saw another raw food enthusiast from the island too haha. I've never met anyone personally who was into the whole raw food thing. Where do you do your food shopping and all of that jazz? I can't wait until some farmers markets open up this april, I hate buying produce elsewhere. I'm actually looking for more farmers markets around here to go to because the one that I've been going to has a very limited supply of stuff, especially fruit. It's a pleasure to meet you!

hi pretty. i just jacked up my ankle....horrible sprain. cruthches.

as for self-respect, girl, it is a work in progress. i think we have all dated someone who could not treat us the way we deserved. when we learn that we can have something lovely and self-honoring, there is no going back. looks you found that! I know that i have to keep working on the relationship with myself and make it a kind, loving one. I'll get mine!

I've met some hit chix on GITMR. Not satisfying in the least. Just the opposite. Most communication is self-defeating, accomplishes nothing. I would love it if people would leave me alone when I'm out and about. Anybody else?

Mariam, watching this raises questions: for instance, is this guy just an actor? Seems like it. "Am I glad I went"? Well, in the sense that I knew I had to see him eventually.....I guess I got it over with (and used up my airline credit). Is he a...
