The level of optimization that I wish to achieve is a level where my body and mind run as it was intended by nature. Under my previous form of eating I did not achieve that for whatever reason. Some of the things that were not resolved:
1. Some pimples
2. Lack of muscle growth despite workout
3. Inefficiency. I would have to eat a insane amount to keep up with my energy requirements.
Other than that everything was just fine. I really enjoyed the diet. We'll see how this new one goes. By the way Avocados were a big part of what I ate. I don't know if that was what you were referring to when you asked about the high fat, plant based diet.
Well, what I'm looking for really is a diet that is best suited for me. After so much time on fruit, I eventually felt that I wasn't optimal and that I still needed much improvement. At the end of the day, I felt like I had gone as far as I could on fruit. Progress must continue.
Now I'm giving raw meat and dairy a go. There are good benefits on both sides, but I'll never really know till I try it for myself.
Hi Spencer,
Thanks for saying hello. How well you write in Spanish. It's a wonderful language, isn't it? And yes, a great country. If you are interested, perhaps you would consider writing a few bits and bobs about raw food, in Spanish? I am building a website, crudista.com, and am looking for contributions that can communicate how wonderful raw foods can make you feel and just how simple it is to make yourself feel great, naturally.
Spencer, thank you for the warm words. I was really moved, coincidentally, by your about me. Beautiful. When one learns how to breath, one learns to relax, to then surrender, speak the truth and then explore the limitless possibilities through the pathless path to liberation. All that'll we'll ever need is within us. The Tao is wonderful, isn't it? :)
Namaste, Spencer. I have enjoyed perusing your profile; you've a magnificent and fortunate disposition. I adore your reflective observations. recently i have been Dr. Bruce Lipton and epigenetics obsessed. I am doing research for an art installation using radio frequencies and am very interested in electomagnetic waves. Universalising epigenetics are the hertz waves that we all emit from our heart in 2 frequencies (love and fear) and how these waves continue from us to interact with the world. Naturally our hearts emit the same frequency as the earth and it is speeding up right now! All this is super exciting for me and I am endlessly fascinated. I encourage you to see what the scientists behind www.heartmath.org are creating with their Global Coherence Initiative www.glcoherence.org.
If you return to China - come to Shanghai!
Be well; create a beautiful day! Blessings.
i'm totally with you.. what inspired your water fast & transition? i hope you are well
the way i eat greens varies.. staples are romaine & celery, but i also enjoy baby spinach, butter lettuce, iceberg, and other baby greens from time to time.. celery i always remove the strings, as i think it improves both taste & texture
i eat greens straight up as a snack quite often.. tonight i made a salad of romaine tossed with celery, grape tomatoes, & bell pepper.. sometimes i'll blend up a tomato sauce and just dip romaine or celery in like chips n salsa.. sometimes i'll just wrap barhi dates from the date ppl (so good) in romaine or eat them with celery.. my friend joey eats the same salad every night that's just romaine tossed with a dressing of mango blended with dates.. another delicious dinner is wraps made with leaves of either romaine, iceberg, or butter (boston) lettuce with a filling of salsa or relish made with chopped mango, grape tomatoes, celery, & cilantro (sometimes chives)
there's a few ideas for ya lol.. i'm fortunate to have some frugivore friends who are quite savvy in food prep that have taught me some great things
i usually only eat greens when i crave them tho.. i suggest if you're in this transition off a fast into what seems like a very cleansing period is to only eat greens right now if you feel a desire too.. don't think you need to eat them as a supplement.. you'll eventually crave them when you need them if you're not currently
so glad everything's workin for ya right now.. i truly believe we're very fortunate to be at our level of enlightenment
Hey Spencer, hope you're doing well- we've been learning about applications of biologically inspired materials in my nanotech class- thought it would be something you would enjoy looking into. = )
It's sooo good to hear from you. I've been doing good. I'm deep into contemplating the idea of returning to school for a masters, particularly at the University of Santa Monica for a masters in spiritual psychology for Fall 09. That means I may move to CA if I get accepted. I'm still eating raw although not 100 percent.
You're pretty ambitious yourself! Why a math minor? (Just curious) That's really cool that you're pursuing medicine. I'm currently taking a nanotechnology class that's very interesting. I'm looking to apply my major towards smart prosthetics and whatnot. There's so much research going on out there now; the human body's just amazing.
Thanks for posting! I went to the dentist today and was absolutely delighted when I heard the dentist comment to the hygenist, "she has beautiful teeth, doesn't she?"
WOW! Coooool! Haha, all thanks to raw food!!!
Yeah! I have been getting into apples big time, and discovering new ones that I have not tried before like the Honey Crisps! I always like the Gala too great for raw recipes!
Thank you for your positive words everyone. I've been raw for 8 months and it was simply dissappointing to have gone through such a binge! Besides I felt physically awful!
Onward we march from here! lol
