Give it to me Raw

I have in the last years become very aware of what is in my skincare and personal care products. Did you know that none of the ingredients used in these products has to be approved by the FDA. Not that they are the final word but this makes manufacturers much less concerned about what they use.
Did you know that your skin is your biggest organ and it is absorbing everything we put on our bodies? It goes straight into the bloodstream. So I want to be educated and use the purest products.
Many products on the market are preserved with Methylparabyn and an array of other "parabyns" these are not the best choice. When I decided to stop using these parabyns years ago I knew I was on the right track. My mind became clearer and I just felt better overall.
The market is changing though as people vote with their dollars. There was an economic show that featured cleaning products and when the CEO was asked who their biggest competition was he said "Seventh Generation" an all natural cleaning product line that I use and love. Did you know that when you run your dishwasher that the air in your home is filled with the dishwashing liquid and it is breathed in.
For skincare I love oils that I could eat. My favorite is coconut oil. Their are many other choices.
For air freaheners I take water in a spray bottle and add different lovely fragrent essential oils. Frankensense or orange or lemon just to name a few. This can be sprayed around a room to lift the energy or sprayed on me to lift my spirits plus it feels wonderful.
TOGETHER DIVINE LOVE KIM

Kim, this is a FANTASTIC website if u want to know what's really in your skincare, makeup, shampoo, deodorant etc...
http://www.cosmeticsdatabase.com/splash.php?URI=%2Findex.php
it will tell u the toxicity level of any ingredient or product out there, it's incredibly empowering to know not only who u r supporting with your money, but also how it's affecting your health! Alot of companies care more about quick results rather than our health. People think...I use a lilttle bit here and there, no biggie, but it builds up in your system over time, and most of what we use covers %100 of our bodies and goes straight into our system. If u think about what we put on our heads, in our mouths (toothpaste, lipstick), all over our bodies from lotions to soaps, and even under our arms. No wonder cancer is so prevalent. I am a skin care therapist and passionate about this. I thought I was pretty aware, until I looked into this site, it's a shocker, but so empowering to have the awareness and knowledge. I hope this helps to improve the health of whomever comes across this and that of their friends and family...especially the little guys.

I do so agree with you!
I' at a crossing point, as I'm a beauticean. Study and teachings are in the 'old-fasion'-regular way..and now I have an other state of consiousness.
So till I done my own studies in a proper way I do only use the products I also add in my smoothies ;-)
Cacao butter, coconut butter, fresh aloe vera leaf, angstrom minerals, phytoplankton, msm, E3 soap
Have to xperince with fruits and veggies...but as I said: I'm on a crossroad and changing is a proces.
Glad I'm not the only one with this point of view.

I am in agreeance with all above comments. In India and Nepal everyone uses coconut oil - in their hair too. I would add that the most organic skin care on the planet as far as soaps and face wash are concerned is Pangea Organics: www.pangeaorganics.com. A friend of mine started the company and I have seen first hand the love that goes into their product. "Skinny Bitch" is alright; it's veganism aimed at more of a trend seeking dieting type but they have a humorous attitude.

It is. When I saw it, it totally didn't look like a book I would like, but it's really a health book. And it's pretty funny. From what I know about you, I think you might like it! :)

I used to use a few Body Shop products, they don't use animal testing. I'd rather simpler things now, edible things.
I like skin brushing too, water - yay for water, sodium bicarbonate. I used to use jojoba oil years ago, that was great on hair and skin, must find myself some.

i like the "raw gaia" moisturizers and mists. they have beautiful ingredients like cacao butter and essential oils. e3live has nice algae soaps. but most of the time i get along with just skin and hair brushing and water. once in a while for beauty sessions i treat my body with lovely products like self-made skin packs with red and white clay, spring water, manuka honey oil, chocolate and things like that. i love to prepare skincare myself and also use fruits and veggies like papaya, avocado and cucumber..

CEO of what company? Seventh Generation rocks! :) I love their laundry detergent, it makes everything smell so fresh and clean.

Angus, It may seem like a piddling point, but I think it's important that we don't call theories "laws". And thanks for the clarification on this one. ----tele
