Well, the powder keg blew.
My husband received a phone call from a hysterical sister and I was defamed in every way possible for taking their little boy away from Christmas. Now I am shunned from the entire in-law family. Ashamed to say, I really don't mind, they'll come around once they realize my husband won't have them around him or our baby if they can't be civil to me.
Anyway. She said very many hurtful things to me and I realized today that I have been avoiding prayer, avoiding reading the scriptures, simply because I don't want to forgive her. Then it dawned on me. If Yahweh, the creator of all things and all laws, can forgive ME, a lowly sinner, and accept my heart, who am I to deny anyone my forgiveness? It will be hard, but I have to do this.

Yes, AU it makes sense. As much sense as war.. His parents are sad that he is no longer their little boy, and some "girl" came and "took him away">. They feel sad perhaps, and powerless over him. Life is changing and its hard for them. Plus, they may have always been that way. You just didn't know it before you married.
My mother in law was offended by something and refused to talk to me or my then boyfriend the first time I visited out there. She's still doing things like that,. When the kids and I were out there in July, she got offended about something and didn't even talk to me or the kids the last week, and didn't even tell the kids goodbye. your people sound similar.
You can find ways to be happy anyway. Find some friends who love you, and get on with life. Its not worth stressing about for the rest of your marriage. Its how she wants it. NOw don't let it drain your adrenals or something, and try to move on and think about happy things. Listen to Wayne Dyer and use his ways of looking at things. It could really help you relate to them in a loving way, no matter how they act.

I think they are being forced to evolve spiritually which is a good thing.. I just hope it doesn't continue for too long!
