I certainly give my life meaning, I am accountable for it. I am the happiest Ive ever been in my whole life. Its very liberating to know that I choose what matters most to me, that Im not submitting to any specific blueprint. Having people tell you how to meditate is like having people telling you how to breathe. Oh wait...
Everyone has what works for them.

Depression and Loss of hope happens when certain external experiences and internal factors close a persons Chakras. When all the chakras are closed a human being contracts and feels everything as hopeless.

This can happen even when a person has everything - Money, Career, Fame, etc. Sometimes, it could be some loss of love (family, friend, romantic, love of something) or sense of pointlessnes and / or some fear of future where they see no hope.

The best ways to take care of this are not psychologists and shrinks and Prozac, but practice of pranayama, meditation and (primary & sutble / secondary) chakra opening and healing. Also, physical exercise and catharisis helps open up subtle body chakras and reduce tamas in the body.

There is no meaning. Nothing matters, only what you CHOOSE to matter. Its all social construct. We may as well choose things that are worthwhile.

This is an interesting topic Charles!

The way you started this topic I was curious if you wanted to see who agreed with you or if you just wanted to make a statement.

But wht this reminds me of is a paper I wrote in college on suicide. Basically it was about how high the suicide rates are in men who have lost all hope. This has a lot to do with what people perceive the meanin of life to be. One of the lowest is in african american women. One of the highest is in african american men. The other highest was young men in California.

The reason for this I think is because of the belief that money and status is everything. I hope that this topic can be explored more because we have silently lost a whole generation of men. People don't realize it- but it has been caused by the inability of men to see anything to believe in.

The question is if you don't believe in anything then what DO you believe in?

My question is, Why if you can't believe in God does a person have to wallow in negativity? Why does it seem like this?
