I think every day should be a three day weekend day.
Maybe I'll start a petition.

Please:

I love being at home doing my writing. I put in about 9 hours worth of work yesterday while the rain fell in torrents. I don't remember us getting that much rain in .... I don't even know how long. And the thunderstorms. I love a good thunderstorm (especially when I'm nice and cozy in my house). I looked out this morning at my garden. First I cringed about how much the weeds had grown. But then I saw the purple blossoms on my catmint plant. Just a weekend of rain and the world turns green.
My friend graduated from college a week or so ago and had a celebration time this weekend. Two of our good friends came in town to join the festivities - one from California and the other from Illinois. These are friends from my judo days. Don't you just love it when you have friendships that last beyond what originally drew you together?
It was great hanging out. And so much food. My friend made fruit-ka-bobs - among a ton of other things. I kept pulling the pineapples off and just eating those and the strawberries. The pineapple was so juicy and so fresh. Geez, I sound like a commercial. I forget - when I get caught up in my quiet hermit crab eccentric lifestyle - how much society and people center their lives around food. Planning becomes all about which restaurant to hit next. Now don't get me wrong, I love to eat, but I guess I don't get out much.

Yeah, that's me, the little hermit crab... all the way in the back of her shell. I'm not anti-social. I'm just an introvert who emerges for occasional extrovert appearances.
This is my judo familia. Last time we were all together was last June in Las Vegas for the judo Olympic Trials and my 30th birthday gathering - that might have been the best five day vacation of my life. Wait a second, was that my only five day vacation? Surely not. Time flies by so quickly.

I hadn't seen the boys in about a year. It was great fun to get caught up and just enjoy each other's company. We even managed about a two mile hike Sunday morning in between thunderstorms.
I watched The Curious Case of Benjamin Button with them on Sunday night. I wonder how many people realize the story is based off of the 1920s story by F. Scott Fitzgerald? Of course, you and I know what "based off of" really means. I think perhaps here that means the title is the same.

I loved it. It was quirky, fun, and I think Cate Blanchett is amazingly beautiful. And toward the end when Benji Button was growing young Brad Pitt didn't look so bad himself.
My friends thought it was too long, too weird and boring. Apparently my friends and I do not have the same taste in movies. I liked the flavor of the film. And maybe this was because it has a bit of the strangeness and mystery that my novel (I hope) has in it too. I got a good escape into another piece of fiction while my own plot continues to stew in my brain.
My novel draft finishing deadline is only 6 days away. Eeks.
I will make my goal.
And actually I really am making progress. The coolest thing about this high intensity writing is how fun it is! Every day I go up into my writing nook and "work". I'm putting in enough hours to qualify the time as a second job. And I absolutely love it. Next goal - have writing be my job.
Every one should do what they love.
That's why I loved Steve Irwin the Crocodile Hunter - he loved what he did.

That's why I admire Tony Robbins - talk about passion. And I love discovering people who are passionate about what they do. It's what I want for myself - to do what I love and what I am good at doing.
Obviously I am passionate about writing. I can't seem to shut up about it.
One day, kids, you'll see me in print. As George Zimmer of Men's Warehouse says, "I guarantee it."
