Give it to me Raw

This seems like the way to go for me, I have not read the book yet but have read so many forums, articles and have listened to a lot of interviews to feel ready enough to at least start.

I have been overdoing it on the nuts and raw fats, enough already haha

Any helpful tips, links, what to eat what not to over eat would really be appreciated!

Many thanks
x

Wow I am training for a triathlon and don't eat near that much. I think I see my problem. I feel good Monday Tuesday and Wed, (big training days) then Thursday (CRASH) I can tell I need calories. As for Dill not sure about the 20% Do you have facts. How could it be bad to eat fruit and veggies. I am confused. Does the 8/1/1 guy profit somehow on eating his way that include no vitamins or "superfoods" or a package of some sort. Sorry but I have to question those that sell "stuff"

Good luck indeed. I have heard that the 80 10 10 works great for 20% of the Millions of Genetic make ups. I have heard from Gabriel Cousins and David Wolfe that it is indeed a very dangerous way to engage lifestyle change if you do not fit into that percentage and there are apparently a number of very upset people who do not fit that percentage who have attempted this "Diet" Much Love Much Good Fortune to you. 30 bananas a day huh? hmmmmm

THANK YOU all for the well wishes and YOUR own experience - you can't imagine how much help that is to me. The idea of 'volume' was overwhelming to me at first but I'm looking forward to easing into 80 10 10 so much more now xx

Penelope,
Congratulations on trying 811 low fat raw vegan! My wife and I have been doing it for a little over four months now, and we can't imagine going back to our old way of eating.
Here are a few suggestions:
1. The single biggest problem at first is getting used to eating a large volume of fruit and greens. The recommendation is to eat more meals at first until your stomach gets used to the higher volume. It takes some perseverance. It was a bit of a struggle for us at first, but well worth it.

2. Here's what I eat on an average day: I'll start off the day with about four to five pounds of watermelon (that's not including the rind), which gives about 600-800 calories. Then for lunch I'll have about fourteen bananas, some of them blended - that's about 1250 calories. Then I may have some soaked figs or an apple or two for an afternoon snack. Dinner will be a large salad with some oranges or mangos, or pineapple. Altogether that's about 2800 calories for the day (I weigh 145 lbs.). My wife, at 106 pounds, has around 2300 calories a day. Some of the women on 30 bananas a day who are more athletic eat 3000-4000 calories a day.

2. It's very helpful to log your food for a while at first using nutridiary.com or cron-o-meter, so you know how many calories you're getting. If you undereat and don't get enough calories, it becomes very tempting to go back to high fat or even cooked food.

3. Here's the link for 30 bananas a day community:

Good luck!

hey there!! you'll feel so amazing eating this way. it makes life so much easier, for some reason. DEFINITELY get your hands on a copy of the book. i read it while on vacation and couldn't put it down. i always have it on hand to re-read specific sections. i ordered mine from my local bookstore...think it was about $25. but well worth it. and also, definitely come over to 30 bananas a day. such a great and supportive forum - you'll find tonnnnssss of info. over there which can hold you over till you get the book. good luck!!!!

Best of luck...I feel like I've found home with 80/10/10. I highly recommend the green smoothies and mono meals, and that 80/10/10 is typically eating as many greens as fruit in volume.

30bananasaday.com is a giveittomeraw.com for 801010ers.

my magic bullet burnt out, it was good for travelling while I had it though. Can you get a second hand blender? The cheaper ones I have used don't chop up the greens as well. Try to get something with a higher wattage, like 1000watt.
